i went to womb last night to see miles. i got there just right in time miles started to play. maybe it's because he was playing in the lounge but he played really beautiful house music. it was like a true house music! it's very smooth and floating but it takes a lot of skills, technique and experiences to create such atmosphere. i wish i had one tenth of what he got.....

by the way, it took me like 15 minutes to get a drink, and that was pain in the ass. anyway, after he finished djing, we hanged out at the lounge for a little while and headed to la boheme qualita to eat something.

i really hope to see him coming back here in october!

昨晩はマイルスに会いにwombに行って来ました。ちょうど彼のプレイ開始時に到着。ラウンジでのプレイということもあったんでしょうが、もう素晴らしい綺麗なハウス・ミュージック。まさにハウス・ミュージックといった感じ。とてもスムーズで浮揚感が漂っていたんですが、作り出すには多くの才能や技術、そして経験を要するもんなんですよね～。あぁ、彼の10分の1でも自分に備わっていればなぁ・・・。

ところで、ドリンクをオーダーするのに毎回15分くらいもかかったかな。もう最悪。まぁ、それはいいとして、プレイが終わった後は暫くラウンジで時間を過ごし、それからお腹がすいたというわけでラ・ボエム クアリタへ移動。

10月にまた戻ってくることを願っています。

fantasize @ loop

i went to fantasize @ loop last night. i met kai-san and megumilk-san at shibuya station and headed to loop. since loop is such a small space, it's kind of difficult to talk to each other under packed condition, so we had chat for a while in front of loop.

then a little after 3am, we got into loop. floor was kind of small but the sound blew me off: it's really loud, especially at the back of the floor where many speakers piled up to create massive sound. being in the center or right in front of dj booth was good.

miles started off with some heavy bass line stuff and then moved onto some mellow melodies with banging kicks. latter half of his set was more like old school stuff. very much versatile! i wonder how he managed to put such a variety of music in one bag.

昨晩はファンタサイズ＠ループに行って来ました。まずは渋谷駅前でカイさん ＆メグミルク さんと落ち合い、それからループへ。ループは狭いため、人がいっぱいいっぱいの時には話すことが困難だと言うので、暫くの間ループの前の路上で談話タイム。

それから3時ちょい過ぎくらいにループに入る。フロアは狭かったんですが、サウンドに吹っ飛ばされそうな感じでした。特にフロアの後ろの方だとマッシブ・サウンドを生み出すスピーカーが山積みされているため、音量がむちゃくちゃデカい。フロアの真ん中、ないしはdjブースの前辺りがちょうど良かった。

マイルスはブリブリのベース・ラインのトラックから始め、その後はメロウな上物ながらもヘビーなキック系トラックへと移行。プレイの後半は、どちらかと言えばオールド・スクール系。凄く多才! それにしても、あれだけ色んな音楽をよくレコード・バッグ１つにまとめることができたと感心。

tonight is "fantasize" at loop where miles will play. thanks to miles for giving me chances to finally go to clubs here in tokyo. by the way, i didn't know "outergaze" is a japanese label (sorry). i simply thought that it was from one of those west coast labels without carefully checking the details. anyway, i really like dubby tracks.

今晩はマイルスがプレイする、ループ での「ファンタサイズ」です。マイルス、やっとクラブに出掛けるようになった機会を貰ったこと、感謝しとります。ところで「アウターゲイズ」 が日本のレーベルだとは知りませんでした（失礼）。細かい部分をチェックせず、ただ単純に西海岸レーベルの1つだとばっかり思っていました。それにしても、ダビーなトラック、かなり好きです。

i just received some souvenirs: chokolates and cona coffee, from my brother who went to hawaii as his company trip. thank you so much. i admire his company as they always go overseas once a year. i wonder what's hawaii like as i've never been there. i heard that there's a lot of signs written in japanese.....

when i used to go on overseas trips, i put stuff like passport, airline tickets, money, etc. in a vinyl bag. but inside was kinda mess as there's no dividers inside. so, i wanted to have something which i can organize things in one bag, and here it is: a travel organizer!! but at this moment, i wonder when i will use it..... well, i bought it for the next time anyway.

natural humidifier

it's got high humidity these days; 90% at my place. it's like natural humidifier. but i try not to use air conditioner just because i can stand that and i can also save energy. hey, it's like "act individually, think globally."

anyway, i haven't finished yet but new stuff will soon come. skills can be trained but there's also innate gift, i think. i should have trained more of playing piano when i was a little kid. at that time, i was really ashamed of going to piano lessons.

my childhood was like follows. mondays: abacus, wednesdays: water color painting, thursdays: abacus, fridays: abacus, saturdays: piano and sundays: rugby. i was really busy, huh. later, swimming and alpine skiing were added. of course, i quit most of the lessons because of them.

最近、湿度が高いですね。自分のところでは湿度90％。まるで天然の加湿器ですな。だからと言ってエアコンは使わないようにしています。単純に我慢できるから。あと、エネルギーの節約にもなりますし。「地球規模で考え、個人レベルで動く」ですよ。

と言うわけで、まだ終わっていないのに次が。スキルはトレーニングすることができるんですが、持って生まれた才能っていうのもありますよね。あ～、子供の頃にもっとピアノの練習をしとけばよかった。当時はピアノのレッスンに行くのが恥ずかしくてしょうがなかったんです。

子供の頃はと言えば以下のような感じ。月曜日はそろばん、水曜日は水彩画、木曜日はそろばん、金曜日もそろばん、土曜日はピアノ、そして日曜日はラグビー。忙しかったんですね～。その後、水泳とアルペン・スキーが追加。勿論、ほとんどの習い事は辞めざるを得ない状況になりましたが。

perfect fit

as you can see, she fits perfect in the tube-shaped bed. it's really a circle. she's sleeping but her ear is up for checking sound around her.

ご覧のように、チューブ型のベッドにしっかりとはまっています。本当に丸。寝てるんですが、回りの音を常にチェックするために耳は起きています。

then, she extends front and back legs. i cannot extend my leg like that.

それから前・後ろ脚を伸ばす。こんな感じには脚を伸ばすことなんて無理。

later, she released one more leg and is completely relaxed.

その後、もう一方の脚も解放し、これで完全にリラックス状態。

by the way, when you translate "leg" and"feet" into japanese, how you differentiate them?? it seems very easy and simple but kinda difficult especially when those words are in the same sentence.

ところで、皆さんは英語の「leg」と「feet」を訳す時、どのように区別していますか?? 至極簡単・単純のように思えますが、特に1つの文章の中にこれらの単語が出てきた場合などはいささか面倒。

everything is fine except.....

we've been still using vcr at home. of course, we do have dvd "player." as far as recording tv programs is concerned, we are fine with what we have now. anyway, i've noticed ever since we moved in here but the timer recording function is not working. i've checked trouble shooting and i did what the manual says. however, the function still doesn't work at all. i wonder what's the problem is.....

1つの機能を除いては完璧・・・。家では未だにビデオ・デッキを使用しています。勿論、dvd「プレーヤー」は持っていますよ。テレビ番組の録画に関する限り、今あるもので十分。え～っと話はそれましたが、引っ越してきてから気付いてはいたんですが、タイマー設定での録画予約機能が働いていません。トラブル・シューティングをチェックしてマニュアルに書いてある通りのことを実行したものの、直らず。一体、何が問題なんだろう・・・。
