these are really tribal tracks with tribal rhytms with vocal (with effects). also, it seems very much underground as they did some effects on percussions. it must be very much comfortable when listening them outside venue. what surprised me was that these tracks were made by japanese, how incredible!
side b is more anomalistic drum beats and hi hats and bit more up lifting.
(peter black original reel to reel mix done in 1987)
so-called garage classics...well, i don't know abou that :) tracks are not cheesy at all that I like. however, tracks suddenly stop and that's a bit dissppointing to me. side b's remix was said to be done in 1987. yes, it is 18 years ago. wow, i can still use that.
the record contains two versions: with vocal and instrumental. heavy drum with floating synth melodies coupled with vocal line (but it is more like poetry reading or narrative),and that's the vocal mix. instrumental mix was the one without vocal. oh, it started raining (by-talk). anyway, this is the one you can immerse yourself in it as the tracks are added some flavor of percussions. there is no breaks in the track and that's also the point where you can immerse yourself in it. but at the same time the tracks will bring you up when the hi-hat is added in the middle of the tracks.
i barely bought ron trent's stuff. when i bought his record record released from djax-up years ago, his styles was pretty much acid but hey, he has been realeasing wide variety range of styles. i will again pay close attention to his work.
jazz like drum pattern in lined with bass linle, melody line by fender rhodes is on top of the rhythm, and josef saddler sings along smoothly with some percussions. with a touch of trampet , the is like well sopisticated and atmospheric track.
this track is composed of tribal drum and percussions as if sounds like "yoruba (tribe)."
”アマンテ”
民族調のドラムやパーカッションで構成されたトラック。まさに「ヨルバ(族)」」といったところか。
"brinca"
the track starts with impressive guitar and keyboards and then percussion and trampet add some flavor. the intro surely gives me a good mood. later, bass guitar will be added but not bass drum, so this track is very much useful. it's like the track contains only the intro but at the same time it sounds like it contains only break part. well, this track is like that.

well, this is the best!!! that's it. this is the mix cd of tracks released from cajual records mixed by "the" maestro, derrick carter. contained tracks extend from "the" vocal house, up lifting stuff and bleep stuff so-called "weird" tracks, and you can have more than enough of chicago house. derrick carter uses full skill of mixing with playing two identical records at the same time, using eqs, etc. not to mention but the programming is great.
the mix cd does not fade away and still fresh now. it is always said that truly great music is always good music even after the years have passed sine the released days. i again realized that.
<house music's gotta "soul" in it.> that's what people said at that time.
i always go to black market soho
when i visit london (not so often though).
and when i visited the store, goldie
told me that franck roger
would play at the deck in the store. so, i waited for about 30 minutes and there franck roger arrived and started playing rigith in front of me. he played some really nice house stuff. as soon as he looked at me, he was like "are you japanese? Konichinwa!! and started talking to me :)
when i go to chicago (not so often though), i always stop by at this record store. so many djs/producers such as derrick carter, mark farina, miles maeda, etc. had made their first flights from there. since the store is in chicago, they have so many so-called "chicago house" records. of course, they have many other genres of records at the store.
i always buy records at the store, check out the parties with flyers and previously described "ur chicago" and go to club(s).
when you arrive in chicago, grab this magazine first. a lot of information such as clubs, parties, fashion, restaurants, etc. are shown in this magazine. with this magazine, you can spend quality night life in chicago. this magazine is free and you can grab it anywhere like clothing stores, record stores and so on. of course, you could check out the website (http://www.urchicago.com/
) before going to chicago.
oh, it was owesome, man. house, electro, tech stuff, acid, techno, etc., bumpin all the time. i arrived at the smartbar at around 1 o'clock and it was so crowded.
what surprised me was that he did not even change records on the turntables and played them all the time. and he was clicking again and again his power book placed next to the turntale in between times. i assumed something and asked him what he was using. he answered "finalscratch
." he was using finalscratch 2. since he is known for his tremendous collection of records (said to be having more than 50,000 records), i am not sure how much data he put into the computer but there's no need for him to worry about.
regarding the finalscratch, i have heard about the software freezes or other problems but as far as I heard at the smartbar, nothing bad happened while he played. i craved for having that a bit (my materialistic desire became strong). however, it is expensive. i wonder if he uses the finalscratch when he plays in japan.
the admission at the door was $15.00. very cheap (as compared to japan)!! admission has to be like this low.
