i went out for lunch which was very much rare case. the reason being that acquaintance of mine was transferred to work in the different place. the one who leaves the place has the same feeling but it is kinda lonesome to become the one who passes on. so far, i have seen off more times than i got to be seen off..... with regard to the transfer, i wonder why such official notification of appointment comes in unexpectedly. besides, you cannot refuse such appointment unless you have proper reason. anyways, good luck in the new place and do your best.
i started selecting records (and some cds) for the night. i have yet to decide the overall flow. i usually start with some slow and/or mellow stuff and gradually move to upper/ill stuff. but it all depends on the atmosphere. so, i usually divided the set into about 4 small sets. so that i can shuffle them in order to match the atmosphere.
i don't (cannot?) remember records by artist names, except some. instead, i remember by jacket design. i briefly organize records by genres but it is getting so so difficult to find.....out of control?
there was a welcome party on friday night. there, me and some other peopel talked about the weight control. in my case, i try to eat yorgurt as dinner i make by myself. regarding the drink, i drink one or two glasses of shochu (japanese distilled spirit) made from rice, on the ice.
at this point, a guy pointed out that milk (i use to make yogurt) contains fat. you could make butter from milk, so in understand this but i never realized that. also, he said that if you compare same amount of shochu and wine, wine has less calory as wine has less proof.
i did translation all day today at my work. in the morning, i translated english documents into japanese. i did the opposite in the afternoon. i have been doing this for the last 4 years but the translation is just a part of my job. so, anyway, my english should be better but it's not. i learn many words everyday but at the same time i forget more words..... i guess it is because i just hit the keyboard instead of write english on the paper. i need to do something to keep up my skill, don' i?
as everyone (who??) mentions about this magazine, i bought it after touring several bookstores. according to the magazine, the pair i like the most will be available sometime in summer but not specific info such as when and where those shoes will be sold was disclosed. all it said was hose will be sold at only 20 or so "cutting edge" stores worldwide..... it will be wild when those hit the streets.
i like sneakers and i do have some but none of them are like "premium" or "collaborated." the only pair of sneakers which are "one of a kind" is this one
.
can you belive
that (jet pack activates when pc falls down in order to protect itself. holography system activates in order to camouflage as someone is using the pc. shield shutters to protect from spilling over to the pc!!)?
upgraded version of idj by numark
. with this idj2, you can play two songs simultaneously from one ipod, scratch, control pitch (+ or - 100%!!), etc. that's realy cool. however, i don't have ipod..... it is amazing to see how the dj instruments evolve; two turn tables with mixer, then cdjs with mixer, then computer, then ipod, what's the next??
at early evening, we headed for the event where hifana
will do the live performance. we should have checked what time they were going to perform. we got there like 17:30 and found out that they would perform after 21:00..... so, after a bottle of beer, we went to ha huge appliance store near the venue and checked out some cellular phones, computers and cdjs. after that, we ate dinner and again headed for the event.
oh!! man, the live was really great, awesome!! they used all the equipments such as akai samplers, dvjs, effectors (even pedals), turn tables, mixer, some drum sets, etc. and did all the tricks. they seemed to enjoy playing live. of course, their music was great. there were vjs. so, music and visual completely linked to each other, that was awesome!!
before the live, we saw juicy-san, the guy with long beard, so we went up to him and asked if we could take pictures together. he said "Sure thing!!" with smile. i also took a shot of his asarato play. speaking of asarato, i spotted many "asarators (i just made up the word)" at the event.
finally, i found this footage. it's mark farina live video!! this is the footage of released mix cd "derrick carter + mark farina / live at om" (see picture below). however, despite the fact that it takes a little while to be able to see but it's 1 minute and 41 seconds.....
