昨日の羅臼町のカントリーサインで、一通り北海道のカントリーサイン
を発表しました。

ということで、ひとまずこのブログは終了です。

が、また新しい北海道の市町村別のコンテンツが出来上がりましたら、
このブログにて発表していきます。

北海道／羅臼町のカントリーサイン

●羅臼町：オジロワシ
知床半島はオジロワシ、オオワシの越冬地として知られている。数百羽ものワシ
が集結し、世界最大の規模といわれている。マッカウス洞窟では、珍しいヒカリゴケ
を見ることができる。根室海峡を隔てて国後島と向き合う。

Rausu / White-tailed eagle
The Shiretoko Peninsula is known as a place where the white-tailed eagle
and Steller's sea-eagle pass the winter. Hundreds of these eagles come
here and the scale of the gathering is said to be the biggest in the world.
At Makkausu Cave, visitors can see luminous moss that is very rare.
This town faces Kunashiri Island beyond the Nemuro Strait.

北海道／標津町のカントリーサイン

●標津町：北方領土とサケ
標津町の海岸からは北方領土の国後島を見ることができる。標津町は日本有数の
サケの産地として知られている。春から秋にかけてのクジラウォッチングは人気の
観光アクティビティー。２８キロメートルにも渡る細長い野付半島がある。

Shibetsu / Northern Territories and salmon
People can see Kunashiri Island of the Northern Territories from the coast
of the town of Shibetsu. Shibetsu is known as one of the biggest production
areas for salmon in Japan. Whale watching is a popular tourist activity from
spring to summer. This town has Notsuke Peninsula, a very long peninsula
of 28 kilometers.

北海道／中標津町のカントリーサイン

●中標津町：開陽台展望台
開陽台は標高271ｍの小高い丘で、展望台がある。中標津町の重要な観光スポット
である。周囲に視界を遮るものがないので地平線が丸く見える。中標津町は、北海道
以外からの移住を推進している。

Nakashibetsu / Kaiyoudai Observatory
Kaiyoudai is a fairly high hill, 271 meters high, and it has an observation
platform. This is an important sightseeing spot in the town of Nakashibetsu.
As there is nothing to interrupt the view around the hill, visitors can see
the curve of the horizon. Nakashibetsu is trying to encourage people to move
from outside Hokkaido to this town.

北海道／別海町のカントリーサイン

●別海町：牛
別海町の基幹産業は酪農。１９５０年代から機械を使った大規模な開拓が
行われた。その後も整備されて現在の広大な酪農地帯を形成した。生乳の生産量
は日本一で、高級アイスクリームの原料供給地として有名。

Bekkai / Cow
The key industry of the town of Bekkai is dairy farming. Large scale
land reclamation was started in the 1950s. It continued until a large
dairy farming area had been formed. Bekkai is the top place for the
production of milk in Japan, and it is famous as a supplier of ingredients
for expensive ice cream.

北海道／根室市のカントリーサイン

●根室市：北方領土と花咲カニ
根室市は日本の中で最も北方領土に近い都市である。貝殻島と根室市の納沙布岬
の距離は３．７キロメートル。（貝殻島は北方領土の歯舞群島の一つ）根室市の
基幹産業は漁業で、日本の水産業の基地の一つである。特産物は花咲ガニ、サンマ。

Nemuro / Northern Territories and Hanasaki crab
The city of Nemuro is the closest municipality to the Northern Territories
(Hoppou Ryoudo) in Japan. It is 3.7 kilometers between Kaigarajima Island and
Nosappu Point in Nemuro. (Kaigarajima Island is one of the Habomai Rocks,
a group of islets.) The key industry is fishing, so Nemuro is one of the
biggest fishing ports in Japan. Local specialties are Hanasaki crab and
Pacific saury.

北海道／白糠町のカントリーサイン

●白糠町：白糠駒踊り
白糠駒踊りとは白糠町の郷土芸能。野原を元気に走り回る若駒をモチーフ
にした踊りである。シソの生産が有名。かつては炭鉱の町として栄えていた。

Shiranuka / Shiranuka Koma Odori
Shiranuka Koma Odori is a form of folk entertainment in the town of Shiranuka.
It is a dance that has the motif of young horses running happily around in the
fields. The town is famous for its production of perilla. This town used to
be a center for coal mining.

北海道／鶴居村のカントリーサイン

●鶴居村：タンチョウヅル
鶴居村はタンチョウの生息地、繁殖地として知られている。１９３５年に特別天然記念物
に指定され、今日まで保護されている。タンチョウの頭頂部は赤い。タンチョウのつがい
は生涯ともに行動し、解消しない。

Tsurui / Red-crowned crane
The village of Tsurui is known as a habitat and breeding ground of the
Red-crowned crane (Japanese crane). The Red-crowned crane was designated
as a special national treasure in 1935 and is protected. The top part of
its head is red. Red-crowned cranes mate for life.

北海道／弟子屈町のカントリーサイン

●弟子屈町：摩周湖と白鳥
摩周湖は弟子屈の人気の観光スポットだが、一般の人の立ち入りは厳しく
制限されている。展望台があるのでそこから眺める。摩周湖は透明度の高い
湖として知られている。弟子屈町内には屈斜路湖という別の大きな湖がある。
そこではオオハクチョウを見ることができる。

Teshikaga / Lake Mashu-ko and swan
Lake Mashu-ko is a popular sightseeing spot in the town of Teshikaga,
but it is strictly forbidden for the general public to approach it.
Visitors can observe it from observation platforms around the lake.
The water of Lake Mashu-ko is famous for its high transparency.
The other big lake in the area is Lake Kussharo in Teshikaga.
People can see whooper swan there.

北海道／標茶町のカントリーサイン

●標茶町：多和平展望台
多和平展望台からは360度のパノラマ風景を見ることができる。標茶町は釧路湿原
の一部を有する。湿原内の水辺ではカヌーを楽しむことができる。キャンプ場もあり、
釧路湿原の自然を満喫できる。

Shibecha / Tawadaira Observatory
People can have a 360-degree panoramic view from Tawadaira Observatory.
The town of Shibecha is in part of the Kushiro Wetland. People can enjoy
canoeing on the waters of the wetland. Shibecha has camping sites, and visitors
can enjoy the nature of the Kushiro Wetland fully there.
