摩周湖は弟子屈の人気の観光スポットだが、一般の人の立ち入りは厳しく
制限されている。展望台があるのでそこから眺める。摩周湖は透明度の高い
湖として知られている。弟子屈町内には屈斜路湖という別の大きな湖がある。
そこではオオハクチョウを見ることができる。
