■ joint
「関節」のことです。
■ meteorologist
「気象学者」、「気象予報士」です。
■ blessing in disguise
「姿を変えた幸（不幸に見えるが、実はあとで幸運となる事態や経験）」を意味します。次のような例文が挙げられていました。
Getting kicked out of that start-up project was a blessing in disguise. It ended up losing a lot of money.
■ recall in vivid detail
「細かいところまで鮮明に思い出す」という意味です。
■ no picnic
「楽ではない」という意味で、not easyとかnot carefreeということです。次のような例文が挙げられていました。
Working with him is no picnic. He is sloppy and arrogant.
■ as the saying goes
「ことわざにもあるように」、「俗に言うように」という意味で、as they sayとも言います。また、誰が言ったか明らかにしない言い方としては、I heard over [ on，through，via ] the grapevine (that)･･･などがあります。
■ Some things are best forgotten.
「忘れた方が良いこともある」という意味です。他に、forgive and forget（過去のことは水に流す）という言い回しもあります。次のような例文が挙げられていました。
They got in a huge fight over politics but they agreed to forgive and forget the next day.
