■ get firing on all cylinders
get firing on all cylinders: 「エンジンをフル回転させる、全力を上げる」という意味です。
be working at one's full energy and effectiveness...と説明されていました。.
例文としては、以下のようなものが挙げられていました。
Lidia was firing on all cylinders this morning. Her presentation was innovative and exciting.
■ in the a.m.
「午前中に」という意味で、in the morningともい言います。一方in the p.m. という言い回しについては少なく、ネイティブの講師の方は「自分はほとんど使わない（ようにしている）」と言われていました。
■ old adage
「古いことわざ」の意味で、 old sayingとかold proverbと同義です。良く知られることわざとして、次のようなものが紹介されていました。
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.（明日の100より今日の50）
Don't judge a book by its cover.（人を見かけで判断するな）
■ the early bird gets the worm
これも「ことわざ」で、「早起きは三文の得」という意味です。
getをcatchに置き換えることも可能です。
別の意味として、「物事を即座に行うことが大切」という意味にも使われるようで、次のような表現が紹介されていました。
If you want that transfer, you should talk to the boss right away. The early bird catches the worm.
■ early riser
「早起きの人」という意味で、early birdともいいます。
■ early to bed, early to rise
ベンジャミン・フランクリンの言葉（ことわざの）一部から来たもので、「早寝早起き」の意味です。
