前項で引用したなかに、「became a Caṇḍāla by the curse of his Guru」とある。
「Guru」の呪いによって、「旃陀羅」（Caṇḍāla）になったのだ。然るに、以下には、
「becomes the victim of Vasistha’s curse」とある。これは、同じ事柄の説明だ。

「Triśaṅku」は、師の「Vasistha」に呪われ､「旃陀羅」（Caṇḍāla）に堕とされた。
然るに…「three spikes meant for him by Vasiṣṭha」ともあるから、実のところ、
｢Triśaṅku」（three spikes）という名は、師の「Vasistha」が名付けたものだろう。
＃それ以前から、 「Vedic literature」のなかに、「Triśaṅku」は見られる。（※「sage」や「teacher」として）
＃だから、「Vasistha」が名付けたというのは、後世の伝説要素であろう。
＃有部系統では…「マータンダ王」として登場し、膨大な知識を披露する。
＃元々の｢先生｣としての要素も、賤民としての要素も、兼ね備えるている。
