＞おおぐま座ζ星は、「ミザール（Mizar）」の名前で知られています。ミザールという名前は、
＞「エプロン、腰布」などを意味する「アル＝ミアザール（al-mi'azar）」に由来するとみられますが、
＞おそらく、これは誤った名付けと考えられます。アラブ人たちは、
＞この星を「アル＝アナーク（al-'anāq）」とよんでいました。
＞クーニッチによると、ミザールのアラビア語名としては、おおぐま座β星のアラビア語の
＞マラーク・アッ＝ドゥッブ・アル＝アクバル（marāq ad-dubb al-akbar）が、この星の
＞アラビア語名としていますが、これはβ星の名前であり、誤ったものであるといえます。

Allenの見解に拠る限り、おおぐま座ζ星の今日の名前である「Mizar」は、
不適切ということになる。さらに近藤氏は、｢マラーク｣をも否定しているが、
Allenは、β星も、ζ星も、ともに「Mirak」と呼ばれていたという立場なのだ。
ζ星の名称として、｢‘Anāķ」＆「Mirak」の二つがあったことになるのである。
＃いま､｢‘Anāķ al Banāt」に対して、「or perhaps this should be rendered
＃“the Goat of the Mourners”, for in some editions of Ulug Beg's Tables
＃it was written Al Inak,─correctly Al ‘Inz.」ともあり、極めて､注目される。
