Always hear this song in the mall since last year and finally came across it on Youtube~

A cute song with lazy feel~

We made a day trip to lake Kawaguchi 3 weeks ago.

I heard about this place from Aileen and since Fred had not seen Mount fuji in real life before, we decided that it was better to visit that place before we get busy with school work.

It is located in the Yamanashi Prefecture and the direct bus from Nagoya takes about 4.30 hours.

Aileen went there as well. The bus which departs from Tokyo takes about a 100 minutes.

After we reached the Kawaguchi ko station, we took a retro bus to the Kawaguchi ko Music Forest.

It is a museum which showcases old music boxes and automatic musical instruments.

We saw many musical antiques from Europe but both me and Fred are not music-person.

I think Aileen enjoyed it more than us because she love music.

Interest aside, the place was so beautiful.

Van.liu

We had lunch in a restaurant inside the museum.

We should have known better that food served in museums are not worth the price.

After spending about 2 hours in the museum, we walked alongside the lake.

Sakura trees were not bloomed yet during that time.

But Mount Fuji was breath-taking.

Van.liu

The rest of the mountains were nice to see too...

Van.liu

We had a nice long walk and I definitely like nature more than cities.

Aileen and my aunt have set off for Tokyo early this morning so it's no more holiday mood for me. School has started officially today and I am looking forward to blowing glass again.

Since our American professor will be returning to his homeland for good, there has been some changes among the lecturers. Whatever it is, I still hope to learn as much as I can from them.

I received a bubble wrapped package that reads "バネッサさん、お疲れ様でした つさか".

It says "Vanessa 辛苦你了 Tsusaka" I was thrilled because it's from my blow glass teacher. I opened the package and found this :

Van.liu

A cup with stripes in neon rainbow colours.

I really aspire to be like him someday.

Last week, Aileen, her mum, Fred and I went to the inuyama castle, the botanical garden in Mie, and rode the romantic railway at Kyoto.

Van.liu

We were in a leather craft shop where Aileen bought a leather keychain with her name punched.

Van.liu

It was my first time to Inuyama castle.

Van.liu

Standing at the balcony on the highest floor of the castle.

Van.liu

When we were walking back to the station, school children in groups were walking and over taking us. All greeting us "Good day" and

I wonder if that was taught in school.

Van.liu

These 3 kept turning back as they walked and posed for pictures.

Van.liu

We had fallen sakura petals in our hands.

Van.liu

And showering them over us.

Too bad, our expressions did not compliment the flying petals!!

Why did we look so funny here?

Van.liu

It's TULIP fair in Nabano no sato now.

So, I have been to Nabana no sato during

Summer, Winter and Spring already.

Van.liu

At KYOTO, the Sagano romantic train.

Van.liu

Very packed.

Van.liu

This was mainly what we saw along the 20 mins ride.Van.liu

And then,
we also had dinner at the place I am working at - Gengenbach.

Van.liu

The food was great! With complimentary dessert too. I want to go back there and dine again because the chef usually prepares Japanese food for us during work. So I can only try what's on the menu if I go as a customer. Yummy!

Aileen will be back this Thursday and she will sleep for another night at our place before leaving for SG this Friday morning.

I think she will have a great time in TOKYO!

Today I opened the main door to find

a paper bag with a note and a gift inside!!!!

Just pretending to be excited with some sense of suspense...

Once again, this is....
the japanese culture -

It's how the newcomers introduce themselves

to the neighbours when they move into the building

or neighbourhood. I think it's a good thing.

Van.liu

Tasted like how it looked. ( Not a bad thing )

So, I replied the new neighbour with a note and

a pack of traditional Penang biscuit bought

from Gurney Drive. Hope she doesn't think it tastes

weird because Fred's friend said it did.

And, after staying in this building for 1 year,

we just discovered that there is no unit #304.

It's #303 and then our apartment #305.

Same superstition leh......

Soon it will be the Sakura season.

Van.liu

But it's already Full Bloom for some flowers.

Van.liu

Van.liu

And already over for some....

Looking forward to HANAMI..

This year, together with my coursin, Aileen and 2nd aunt.

Fred did CHEESE SPRINGROLLS yesterday...

Van.liu

Wrapping was not too nice but

Van.liu

it was super YUMMY!

Let me introduce some 和菓子, WAGASHI -

Japanese Desserts I LOVE!

わらび餅 - WARABI MOCHI

The first time I tried it was when I ordered

this parfait. It's the brown squashy cubes...

Van.liu  Van.liu

No fillings inside and I can't tell

what the coating is but it's just YUMMY~

Full of flavor and nice texture.

And then, it's 水饅頭 - SUI MANJUU

The first time I tried it was when it came

with a set meal I ordered. I think the ones I had

had chestnut filling inside.

Van.liu  Van.liu

Very cooling and just YUMMY~

Can't explain more.

Next, 醤油団子 SHOUYU DANGO and anything

made from rice ...

Van.liu  Van.liu

Rice ball dipped in soy sauce is weird but

interesting.

The best thing about BBQ rice cake is

the burnt part. Just Yummy and stretches like cheese~

Have always liked Red Bean

but Love it even more now...

Van.liu

Thick red bean paste is nicer than

watery reb bean soup!! With

Dango (^~^)

有机会的话请TRY~ o(^-^)o

Fred bought an interesting book the other day.

Van.liu

It's call The handbook for Protecting Life.

It contains 150 survival ideas you can use in times of emergency.

From the most basic of all -

HOW TO MAKE A FIRE,

Van.liu

HOW TO MAKE A PILLOW,

Van.liu

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR BODY DURING WATER RATIONING

Van.liu

To the least important tips like

HOW TO MAKE A RIBBON HAIR TIE.

Van.liu

Definitely a very useful book to

have in the emergency escape bag!!

Got to know about the Ampelmännchen

( Little Traffic Light Man ) recently.

It is a popular symbol of Eastern Germany and

apart from seeing them at

the pedestrian crossings,

you can find these mascots on a wide range of merchandises.

Van.liu

The restaurant where I am working at carries some of the official products and I bought a pair of earrings which I thought was pretty cute.
