Today I set off on a one and a half hour journey South.

Van.liu

And I reached GLASS VALLEY where my friend

is working part time at. It was a nice shop.

Van.liu

Did the glass bead on 2F.

Van.liu

Here is my friend, Micchi, one of the girls

who came to SG in September this year.

Van.liu

Doesn't she resemble her?

Van.liu

The experience is done in 15 mins and while waiting

for the bead to cool down to room temperature,

I went for a walk....

Van.liu

It's a place away from the city.

As soon as it turns 5PM, it was already pitch-dark.

And for the first time in my life, I saw many many stars in the

night sky.........So beautiful.

I just want to be away from the brightly lit

town....

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

よいお年を!!!

新年快乐!!!

The weather forcast is right,

it snowed today!!

And it is still....

Why is it so amazing?

I must be in a snow dome / globe....

Happy Holidays!!

最近我门是这个样子。

Wearing the necklace from the Heritage series

I have always wanted

and finally got it with SL's staff price.

But 不久前, the chain was broken because of carelessness....

They have the same chain online but I hope I could get it replace

in their shop when I go back.

Really like it alot and SL knows why.

Btw, this is the 2012 design...

Van.liu
Isn't it ugly, SL?

But anything I think it's not nice, you will like it.

(´0ノ`*)

And then, SL's favourite and she probably have it everyday,

it's the first time,

I tried STARBUCKS....

Van.liu

It's always super crowded and I think it's

cool to drink expensive coffee we decided to try.

I don't drink coffee but it was too delicious...

The winter special - Cranberry White Mocha... &

Toffee Nut Latte

太好喝了!!Well, I might have starbucks

ONCE in a while from now on...

Weather Forcast says it will snow today but

I don't see snow 可是又不敢洗衣服...

And I was sian when my

friend said that she can't go snowboarding anymore

because she has forgotten that she has crammed lecture

on the day we planned to go...

I don't know why but Fred doesn't want to go with me too...

Maybe he's afraid to break his bone...

这一生我有机会滑雪吗!!!

Last night, we had dinner at an authentic korean restaurant

which was introduced on TV programme...

Van.liu

I think that Koreans are very chinese-like,

they talk super loud and not as polite

as the japanese at all... But the service was ok...

Just a bit not used to being served that way in Japan.

The restaurant has no menu, all dishes are

written on paper and pasted on the wall...

Only ordered the words I recognized like

人参鸡,海鲜チヂミ and finally asked for

BBQ recommedation.

The BBQ I saw on TV and wanted to try was this.

( Found a review online when I was searching for the location )

Van.liu

but what I ordered without knowing was...

Van.liu

Taste not bad la....

Chirstmas doesn't feel like Christmas in JP.

Anyway, I don't think Christmas is important anyway.

Walk around town after dinner and Fred

bought this

Van.liu

And then he passed it to me saying it's my

Christmas present.

I think he wants it more than I do...

I don't even like Chopper, don't even like

One Piece...

But I like SNOW DOME very much...

and found a reason to like this chopper as well

because he says that this is Lappy when

he cries every time I leave... (T_T)

Must be true because I am the one he loves most.

I like to think this way...

I can rest already!

Apart from the electives,

I am considered free...... !!!

The art piece I worked on for about 6 weeks....

Van.liu

Yesterday was the last day of exhibition.

Van.liu

We got a professional photographer

to shoot our works

for us and it cost $80 per piece...

Most of us had 2 shots each and

I think I am willing to pay the price because

glass is seriously difficult to take.

Van.liu

Mio-chan and the photographer...

The 2 weeks holiday starts this Saturday

and there are some events to look forward to!!

I will be going to my friend's workplace to make

glass beads. And the most exciting one is that I will

be going snow boarding!

Then, I will be going home soon!!!

最近为了一个快到来的展览会忙。

Although it's a spacious gallery and

it involves the Year 2 & Year 3

from GLASS and CERAMIC course,

the exhibition will be held within the school compound.

Opening party this friday but I am only 70% done.

So, 这个星期也会忙。

"Just work hard a bit more and it's holiday...."

I keep thinking about this when I feel tired or worried.

Am collecting the bottle caps from the beer called GAFFEL,

isn't is cute?

Van.liu

Am planning to make them into something decorative

like a pin?

Van.liu

E.N.D

It was our school holiday yesterday

and national holiday today.

Thinking that it might be less crowded

at the popular Maple leaves viewing hot spot - KOURANKEI,

we went there yesterday.

There was a slight traffic jam but

I think it would be worse during weekends.

Van.liu

Making our way to the red bridge.

According to the KOURANKEI tourism website,

they say that 60-70% of the trees have turned red.

Van.liu

Not quite red though, more like 50%

But the air, water and nature were nice...

There were many dogs too...

Van.liu

Finished the viewing shortly,

had a hot dog bun and then we climbed the mountain.

Van.liu

I think it is about 20 storeys tall and it's

the first mountain I have ever climbed!!

I think "walk up" the mountain sounds more right,

it wasn't difficult at all but enough to make me pant...

Van.liu

At the peak... I was hoping to see a

vending machine there but no.

One of my wishes is to climb mount Fuji

before I go back to SG for forever....

I heard that the sun rise you see at

the peak of Mount Fuji will move you....

(≧▽≦)

Wanna know the types of food that are served
in our school canteen?

Van.liu

Above is the set lunch that changes daily.

Some food taste bad but set lunch

usually taste good.

And below is what I have begun to like recently.

Rice, Soup, and separate dishes.

Van.liu

*:..。o○☆゚・:,。*:..。o○☆*☆*:;;;:*☆*:;;;:

Below are some fast food that are not served in

our SG Macdonald but I like alot.

My favourite breakfast is

TUNA & POTATOE SALAD MUFFIN.

I think it's for a limited period.

Van.liu

Salt & Lemon sauce chicken burger.
The chicken is super crispy and juicy.

Van.liu

New item : CHOCOLATE PIE.

Van.liu

Warm chocolate lava inside !

*:..。o○☆゚・:,。*:..。o○☆*☆*:;;;:*☆*:;;;:

So far, I am still enjoying going to work in the

restaurant

Another reason I love going to work is because they provide meals.

I had this : Bake salmon in foil the other day.

It's delicious and the chef shared the simple recipe with me.

Furthermore no washing after eating.

I would like to try it someday.

Van.liu

Not only is food provided, the company pays

for our transportation fee as well.

How nice it is to work in Japan even as a part timer.

*:..。o○☆゚・:,。*:..。o○☆*☆*:;;;:*☆*:;;;:

I went here yesterday.

Van.liu

In another words, I have cut my hair.

Short again !

Van.liu

( In the picture: Apple from a fast Glass demo by Tsusaka-san, the new blow glass teacher. )

I almost didn't attend any lesson this week cos'

I had a terrible and fuc**** migraine from Monday to Wednesday

I had to skip 2 days of work and miss my own glass blow time.

Usually it last for a day but this time !!!!

It's irritating cos' it's not just a headache,

my vision was weird too.

Recently I recalled that I had knocked my head super hard

on the wall when I was about 10 and since then,

half of my vision will become blocked

minutes prior to the headache. Sigh, I hope

there is nothing abnormal going on in my head...

I finally went to a doctor on Wednesday, for the first time in JP

and was prescribed medicine which I thought was more effective than the one I got in SG.

And I think that seeing a doctor is more affordable here because

everyone is required to buy an insurance and the government will cover 70%

of the medical bill.

Anyways, for the remaining days of this week,

we had our school festival. Thursday was preparation

and Friday / Saturday was the festival.

Oh Boy, it was boring. But many of my classmates

earned quite a bit by selling their art pieces.

Van.liu

Van.liu

I sold a piece of glass art too, a blown glass ball for $3

People really buy anything.

It was a useless glass ball which I

want to get rid of and somebody found a liking in it.

I felt appreciated that he/she sees a motive in buying it.

And I said about doing Henna art, right?

I earned about $8 from 4 people?

Van.liu

乱七八糟。。。
Van.liu
Isn't it stressful that someone ask you to do it on the face and neck?

Maki did more and I think she finds it fun.

I lost interest in doing it on the first day because

I feel that I couldn't draw as nice as the Henna artists in Little india and decided

to not do it anymore the next day. And I did something

not nice yesterday which made me feel bad.

When I reach our glass store, my coursemate said

that there was someone who wanted to do henna.

I said " I don't feel like doing" and they were shocked.

And I approached the lady and told her that MAKI was attending

a concert so Henna couldn't be done. ( Truth )

She immediately conveyed the message to a little girl

and the little girl gave out a dissappointed sigh.

I feel so bad for letting a little girl down.

I could have anyhow drawn and I think she might be happy too.

I thought I am too much !! But well, I have gotten over it.

Anyways, we had unhygienic food, second hand clothes, etc at the festival.

Not as crowded and lively as I thought it would be. Definitely not looking forward

to the one next year. But I have better make art pieces worthy to be sold !!

Van.liu

Van.liu

Many dogs came too. Made me think of my dogs more...

It's Sunday but I have to work today because

it's the October Festival in Germany this month so

it will be like a drinking and eating party later on.

And I heard my uniform will be kawaii ~

Right now, I am really enjoying school and my part time job.

If life can be like this forever, how great.

What I hate most to see on FB

are the complains about

bosses / colleagues / clients .... NOT GOOD !!

最近的天气都是雨天。

现在是早晨,好不容易天空放晴。。。

所以赶快把洗好的衣服拿出去晒。。。

A wedding party was going on in the German restaurant last night.

It's popular for Japanese to have wedding parties in restaurants

and when I was living within Nagoya City, I often

see wedding parties in the restaurants I would walk pass on the way home.

The girls would come in standard dress designs and hair style.

I am serious! It seems that that style is a must when they go for

parties.

Anyways, they had food, drinks, showtime and bingo games.

Many prizes were give out. That's the difference between

Japanese wedding parties and SG wedding parties吧。

But wait a minute, there's no such thing as a wedding party in

SG, right? We just have a formal dinner in hotel, I guess.

But anyways, who cares... I am just there to earn money.

I have more or less memorized the 16 types

of German beers... It's so difficult to pronounce

German words!! And pouring beer with super active yeast

is scary too. It could erupt when poured the wrong way and

the beer just want to gush out of the tall glass.

There is also this breed of white sausages whose skin

is very mafan to peel !!

只能加油啦。。。

Next week will be a short school week

because we are having School Festival

from Thursday to Saturday. The japanese

are super excited. They said they always had a lot of

fun during school festival because they

could drink beer. But beer is banned this year

because I heard a student ( from other uni )

died from drinking beer during his/her school

festival. So students from our school even made a petition to

allow them to drink again but I doubt it was approved.

Talking about alcohol, I super love going to 飲み会 which translates to

Drinking party. That's the only time I will order my favourite alcohol

and I only knew how it taste like after I come to JP. That's 梅酒。。

My friend, Maki made about $300 from selling beer last year.

This year, she, Michi and I will be doing HENNA body art.

When they were in SG, we had already planned to make money

out of doing henna art during the school festival.

I have never done henna on my own before though.

If it's too ugly, F.O.C should solve the problem hopefully!!

好啦。。。That's it for today.

Yesterday was Nagoya Festival Day and admissions to parks and museums were

free of charge.

I thought the Orchid Garden might be nice and so we went.

It was estimated that the No. 2,222,222 visitor would be there.

Lucky draw coupons were given out to 200 visitors between 10am - 11am

and the first prize was sponsored by Shili's rich employer.

Van.liu

RAN NO YAKATA ~

Van.liu

Van.liu

Small place, not very interesting.

Van.liu

Xiao Lappy de Xiao di di

Van.liu

And many look alike Orchids...

Fred " Trust me, this is the Singapore national flower"

Van "Oh the vanda miss jo..... ar"

Van.liu

And then the next one we saw looks like the

vanda miss joaquim too....

So he can't answer which is the real one.

Van.liu

Van.liu

Van.liu

Left the place shortly...

Not too exciting but at least it was a non chargeable entry.

By the way, I have found a part time job as a waitress in a

German restaurant. G R E A T !! I could use my salary to

pay for the glass stuff and things I have to buy like a camera.

This Thursday, we are having a welcome party for the new glass blowing teacher and a new classmate

and 30th this month, a welcome party for me and the other new staffs.

Japanese seriously like Drinking Party...

I really thank the manager for picking me.

Probably he likes to give foreigners a chance.

There's also a German and Polish girl working in the restaurant.

And last Saturday, there was a 美男子 on shift too.

I thought he resembles Jang keun suk and this guy's posters were

all over the korean restaurant I went yesterday.

Van.liu

Anyway, this guy whom my mother likes

is super popular in Japan too.
