This August has been the first ever month:
I worked so hard for money,
spent the most amount time in the library,
and being apart from Fred.
I think I have yet to mention, but I have found another part time job at a Si chuan restaurant.
It's inside Takashimaya so you know, considered rather high class place and I didn't like workplace initially.
Didn't like it just because every thing is new and scary.
But I have already gotten used to the place, the people and how troublesome it is to communicate with customers in polite japanese. Super 敬語～
None of the chefs are chinese. The only chinese people I met there are the part time staffs like me. 3 of them, including me, 4 foreigners.
To save for a glass workshop which I want to join in November, I need some money..
So I have been working almost everyday. Pretty tiring and I ask myself why am I doing this.
(Even though I know very well why I am doing this.)
So I replied myself "Because YOU want to join a glass workshop!!"
Than I will pick myself up. (｀∀´)
Some of the days, I will be working from 10am to 3pm at the Si Chuan restaurant,
have the lunch provided by the workplace, then go to the library at an international center building to kill time. I love that place! Just because it's somewhere that makes me feel like I am not in Japan. It's all books in english and foreign languages on the shelves.
Since it is the first time I ever spent so much time in the library, it also means that it's the first time I have ever read so many books. I first picked up TWILIGHT because it is the only title I recognised. As soon as I started the book, I just want to finish it fast so that I can return it fast. More of wanting to get rid of the book but I don't want to return a book without finishing it. I finished it! The first novel in many many years.
And then I thought : What's the other titles of the books I know of????
Oh ya, the five people you meet in heaven. A book Fred's dad bought and I was the first and last person to read that one because I think he has lost it.
Searched for the book on the computer and found that they have it. So I re-read that book again and I really love it. Then I continue to read the other books from the same author, Mitch Albom.
His books are perfect for me, easy to read, enlightening and very my cup of tea!!
So, I have found an author I like... It seems that his latest work is coming out soon. Must be a nice read too.
I also read a non-fiction crime book which I couldn't finish because the endings are usually unsolved cases and that makes me very frustrated. If you do not know, most probably you don't... but I watch Crime shows on Starhub cable TV 24/7 and Fred watches transformation of automobile 24/7.
Then when the time is up, I would go to the German restaurant, work and knock off at 11pm.
Endure another 12 days and I will be home!! Endure is not the right word since this is not really hardship.
Enjoy another 12 days!!!
When Fred is not around, I realized that I couldn't finish my coke without him.
Something irrelevant, my feet have grown a size!
Like a snake that shed when growing.
This can't be natural la, it's induced shedding... For new skin...
I tried a product that makes the skin of your sole shed for smooth skin.
Didn't think is will work but it did!!
Soles are less coarse than before.
However I don't think this is right, it feels so against nature...
and.. I don't think I will do it again...
Talking about body care product, I have finally tried Lush's massage bar. It is a body lotion made of moisturizing oil and it comes in the form of a solid bar. This one I am using is called 華 and I think it should have an english name.
I love the scent. It smells like lemon. Pretty moisturizing and leaves a nice sheen like satin finish on your skin.
I am also into one of their soaps called BOHEMIAN. It smells exactly like a lemon too. But it is ridiculously expensive for a soap that melts off easily. Love it but it will not be a re-purchase item. I have been to the lush in SG and the prices are even more eye popping...
This is unacceptable!!!!
They should make them affordable so that Singaporeans can enjoy LUSH too!!!
Yesterday was the 3rd time me and Fred participanted in the overseas students drawing session with kids.
The 4 exchange students from Brighton, UK joined as well.
For the past 2 years, we would bring the children out for a walk outside our school campus and they would choose a monument to draw. ( In hot and humid weather )
As it was raining yesterday, we walked within the school compound.
So the things they picked to draw could be a decoration item in a lecturer's room, a sculpture, scenery of the school, etc...
A mother was kind enough to treat everyone watermelon.
School will be over in 1 week, and I am basically free already.
Just left with lectures to attend and 1 test on famous artists and their paintings .... Pretty worried... Cos I still do not know a single thing about Henri Matisse, paul cezanne.... etc !!
So I know that Chako has been moved to somewhere.
I contacted the person who helped out with the move and got to know about
this dog shelter called Dog smile in Yamanashi Prefecture.
I contacted the Dog smile saying if Chako remains unadopted in March next year, I will adopt her.
She replied asking me to become eligible to adopt a dog as soon as possible and also, her grand daughter living in Manila is also called Vanessa.
So I asked again if Dog smile is against euthanasia.
She didn't reply!!
Then few days ago, I emailed her if living in a pet ok apartment is one of the adoption criticias since it is not stated in the website.
I also asked if I can have Chako.
She didn't reply again and Chako's photo has been removed from the adoption webpage.
I pray that they didn't do anything bad to Chako just because she is old and has unattractive fur colours in the japanese eyes.
How can the lady who owns the shelter I visited in Hamamatsu give away the dogs she has been looking after in her shelter for months. I am pretty unhappy with that.
I have improved vastly under the guidance of Tsusaka-san.
I was aiming for very thin walls and
I am quite happy with the cups I am able to blow now.

Papaer thin glasses from KIMURA GLASS which I really like.
Next, is blowing bowl which is extremely not easy.
But I am excited.
明年好想去美国SEATTLE参加Glass workshop.

I saw a chihuahua (called Haru-chan) up for adoption that looks just like Lappy and I contacted the person who was housing her to ask if she was recruiting volunteers. That was how I came to know about this lady, Tabasa san.
She's a one man organization who takes in retired breeding dogs / abandoned dogs or dogs who have lost their owners. It really takes a heartless man to become a dog breeder. Every month, Tabasa san will receive a batch of dogs that are not suitable to produce babies anymore. It's an easy task for breeders to give away dogs of no use anymore to non-profitable organizations or just dump them alive into the freezer. It's true, the way breeders kill dogs in Tokyo.
Sigh... Fred and I have decided if we are going to get new Furchildren next time, we will choose to adopt.
I came to know that Haru-chan has gone to a new family in Nagoya just one week before I planned to visit her at the prefecture next door. It's a little pity that I couldnt get to see her but I am happy for her at the same time too. Let's hope it will be a forever home for Haru-chan.
So few weeks ago, Fred and I visited the place.
It takes 84 mins from NGY to Hamamatsu.
Tabasa-san picked us up at the station and then she drives
for about 30 mins before we reached her place.
The dogs are housed in a storeroom like place and they can run about
in front of the house when let out.
There were 5 of them when we were there.
2 pomeranians, 1 chihuahua, 1 papillion, 1 dachshund, 1 poodle.
Even though they are thrown away by their human friend,
they still want to be loved by human.
Fred likes Patiko, the white pomeranian.
And she seems to like people easily.
She's going to a new house soon,
I hope she will find the love she deserved but didn't get
for the passed 8 years of her life.
This little chihuahua is just too adorable.
She's 4 and she must be missing her owner who
passed away. Just yesterday, I read Tabasa-san blog and
found out that Alice is also going to a new family soon.
This poodle is going for try out in a new family soon!
She loves human.
My heart goes out to this little pomeranian, Chako.
She's an ex breeder's dog and I can't tell that she already 9.
She wants to be love but doesn't dare to ask for it.
When I was feeding snacks to the dogs who rushed to me for it,
Chako was standing in the corner looking at the snack in my hand.
I am leaving in a pets not allowed apartment now but I will be moving next year.
I don't know but maybe fate will bring Chako and I together forever.

Met Justin for dinner today and he got me cookies from
Bengawan solo and the popular Hokkaido White chocolate cookie.
Have always wanted to try it and I think it tastes good!
Though he doesn't think it's that super nice for something that is SO
popular as a souvenir.
I also got a Matsuri snack from him, and it's also something I've always wanted to try but just wouldn't want to spend the money on.

Before meeting him, I went around to get some dogs items
because Fred and I will be visiting a woman who houses abandoned dogs this Sunday.
She's a one-person "organization" who is currently taking care of 12 dogs.
Can't wait to meet them.

Hainanese Chicken rice for dinner
at work place last night!!
Well, chef used the Prima taste one
I bought as souvenir
but I think he's commendable because
he has never seen/tasted Chicken rice before
and the instructions were written in English
which he doesn't understand.
Everyone said that the chicken rice was nice!
Other than that, I've also bought Nonya curry powder and chef
has cooked Singapore style curry twice already~
Taste like home o(^-^)o
