先日、仕事がすんで、

英語を勉強し、外国の人たちと
話すことができるようになれば、
何が素晴らしいかを
教えてもらいました。
その内容を皆さまにシェアさせて

私達は、
国により話す言語、文化、宗教、
肌の色が違いますが、
お互いを理解し合うよう努めれば、
平和という架け橋に向かって
わかりあうことができ、
分断や争いを避けることが
できるのです。
私自身、16歳で海をわたり、
留学生として、異文化を経験しましたが、
人々が喜び、悲しむというベースは、
世界中、誰もが同じだと感じます。
世界中の皆様が
平和でありますことを
お祈りしております。

Candle and Conversation: The Joy of Learning English Together!

I am Yuika.

Today, I'd like to talk about one of my colleagues. He comes from Nigeria and has a deep passion for cultural exchange. He believes that learning English is crucial for Japanese students and often shares his experiences with high school students here in Japan.
In his free time, he participates in cultural exchange programs at local high schools. He's always inspired by students' enthusiasm to learn English and communicate. That enthusiasm is truly infectious! He often says that making mistakes when speaking a new language is not a problem at all—it's a natural part of the learning process and can be quite fun! 😄
English is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world! According to him, the importance of learning English lies not only in acquiring a new language but also in opening up new opportunities and broadening one's horizons. Whether it's advancing in one's career, accessing high-quality education, or simply making friends around the world through travel, English plays a crucial role.
One of the cultural exchange programs he participated in involved a fun candle-making activity at SEND Candle Shop. It was a wonderful experience where students discussed their favorite colors, flowers, and scents in English while making candles. They shared techniques for shaping candles with fire and brainstormed ideas while learning new English words. The students enjoyed the process immensely, finding it both educational and entertaining.
Activities like these with foreigners help students practice English and provide opportunities to glimpse different perspectives and lifestyles.
What always stands out in these sessions are shared human experiences and preferences. Despite the languages we speak, we all share similar hopes, dreams, and interests.
Here's a special message from him to everyone in Japan: "Don't be afraid of making mistakes. Learning a new language is a journey, and each step brings you closer to achieving your goals."
English is a vital tool that can benefit many aspects of your life. Embrace challenges, enjoy the process, and most importantly, have fun with it!
