Berlin Trip - Day 3 (08.06.2014)
When we woke up to our 3rd day, we were having trouble with pains from last day. I even can't turn my neck.
We went to a near bakery to try a different breakfast but it wasn't a good idea.
The woman in the shop didn't know English so it was hard to communicate.
I only know a few German words.
Our plan was to go museums on that day.
We went to Museum Island.
We waited in the line for entering Pergamon Museum. It took about 30mins.
Ishtar Gate was the first thing in the exhibition.
It's huge!!! (*_*)
We've learnt ancient architecture at architecture history lesson.
It's amazing to see this beautiful gate.
In the second room there was Market Gate of Miletus.
It's gorgeous too!
Hey, I found someone who is familiar!
Is that you girugamesh? Yes, yes it's you!
Gilgamesh the great king of Uruk!
gılgamış=gilgamesh=girugamesh
and the main piece of the museum, Pergamon Altar! (*_*)
It's amazing!!
It's a bit weird to think Miletus Gate, Pergamon Altar and some other pieces are actually from Turkey land but on the other hand it's good to see they're protecting in a good museum here in Germany.
There were so many great pieces in the museum. You must visit there if you go Berlin.
We spent half of the day in Pergamon Museum.
We chose New Museum for the second and last museum of the day.
There were pieces from Roman and Ancient Egypt periods.
A tall door from Romans
Cat and crocodile mummies
This museum was so big too. We spent other half of the day at that museum.
We were so tired and hungry at the end of the day.
We went to Alexanderplatz and ate lahmacun for dinner.
We slept as soon as we returned to hotel.
