スティーブ・カウフマンさんは外国語学習においてもっとも重要なのは３つあると述べている。それは、
１．外国語に向かう姿勢（Attitude）
２．十分に時間を使うこと
３．気づくこと
の３つ。記憶力はもっとも重要なものではないとのこと。

Haftzettel, Klebezettel, Post-its … bevor ich in die Herrlichkeit der klebrigen Zettelchen eintauche, lass mich dir ein bisschen Kontext geben. Ich hatte mich dazu entschieden, fließend Russisch zu lernen – in nur 18 Monaten. 覚えたいものにその名称を付箋に書いて貼り付けておく、というのはよく聞く方法だが、それ以外にも、TODOリストを付箋に覚えたい言語でかいたり、ショッピングリストを書いておいたり、あるいは覚えたい単語をまとめて一つの部屋に貼り付けておき…という方法が紹介されている。

徐々に絵ができあがってくるのが面白い。
絵って描いているといつのまにかかなり時間が立っているもの…とは10時間ぶっ続けはきつそう。

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is not as tilted as it once was after it straightened slightly as a result of engineering work to protect the tourist attraction.
Experts of the tower's surveillance group, which monitors restoration progress, said the monument was "stable and very slowly reducing its lean" following 17 years of observation.
The 57-metre (186ft) construction straightened by 4cm (1.5in), according to engineering professor Nunziante Squeglia of Pisa University, who was quoted in Italian media reports

Man With The World's Longest Fingernails Cuts Them Off After 66 Years
The man with the world's longest fingernails has finally cut them off.
Shridhar Chillal of Pune, India, started to let the fingernails on his left hand grow when he was 14 "after being told off by a teacher for accidentally breaking his long nail," according to Guinness World Records.
He's now 82. And he holds the record for the longest fingernails on a single hand.
Chillal flew to the U.S. and had his nails cut off using a small circular saw at a ceremony Wednesday in New York. The Ripley's Believe It or Not! museum in Times Square has put them on display.

仕事は写真家だそう。
爪をきったもののあまりにも長い間爪を伸ばし続けて不自然な手の形を強いられ続けてきたために手が固くなって開けられなくなっているとのこと。

Domino's pizza driver filmed doing wheelie down high street sparks investigation
A pizza chain has launched an investigation after one of its drivers was caught on camera attempting a motorbike stunt before crashing in the road.
A Domino’s delivery driver was filmed trying to pull off a wheelie - riding the bike balanced just on its back wheel - down Clapham High Street in south London.
A spokeswoman for the American chain confirmed the incident was under investigation and called it “wholly unacceptable”
Footage of the manoeuvre surfaced on Sunday after it was uploaded to Twitter and has since been retweeted thousands of times.

「従来スタイルの靴磨きでは、お客様が座って、靴を履いたままの姿勢で磨きます。これでは、靴磨き職人はどうしてもお客様を見上げる姿勢になります。靴磨きを始めたころ、友達に靴磨きをしているというと、相当奇異な目で見られましたが、靴磨き職人が職業として確立していない証拠。これを何とか変えたいと思い、立って磨くというスタイルにしたのです。美容師も立っていますが、お客様と同じ目線に立つということは、コミュニケーションをとる上で、とても重要なことだと考えています」

ドバイ警察では2020年の導入をめざしてホバーバイクの練習中とのことで、その練習動画です。ホバーバイクは150000ドルするらしい。
ドバイ警察はすでにブガッティーとかランボルギーニのパトカーを導入済み。やはり金があるところはやることが違う。
これを見る限り実用性がどれくらいあるのかはけっこう疑問。
