　【ワシントン２６日時事】２７日付の米紙ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナル（電子版）によると、北朝鮮の姜能洙文化相は、平壌で２６日行われたニューヨーク・フィルハーモニックの公演に金正日労働党総書記が姿を見せなかったことについて、「わが将軍様は大変お忙しい」と語った。
　同紙が平壌駐在外交官の話として伝えたところによると、金総書記は当初、鑑賞を検討していたが、米政府高官が出席しないことが判明したため、見送ったという。
　一方、姜文化相は北朝鮮のオーケストラを米国に派遣する用意があると述べ、北朝鮮楽団の答礼訪問実現に意欲を示した。

「対北融和派」が超党派訪朝団検討

　「自民党朝鮮半島問題小委員会」の山崎拓最高顧問と、民主、国民新両党の議員連盟「朝鮮半島問題研究会」の岩國哲人会長らが２７日、国会内で会談し、北朝鮮の拉致、核、ミサイルの各問題や日朝国交正常化のため、連携して議員外交を推進することで一致した。公明、社民両党の議員にも連携を呼びかけるとともに、超党派の北朝鮮訪問団派遣を検討していることも明らかにした。
　会合には、自民党の衛藤征士郎（同小委委員長）、中谷元・両元防衛庁長官、田野瀬良太郎衆院議員、民主党の川上義博参院議員、国民新党の自見庄三郎副代表も参加した。

North Korea Invites Clapton, Too

LOS ANGELES ― On Tuesday, as the New York Philharmonic was on the second day of its visit to North Korea, North Korean officials invited the superstar rock guitarist Eric Clapton to perform there, according to a representative for the North Korean Embassy in London.

Mr. Clapton, the rock pioneer and Grammy winner whose catalog of hits includes “Layla,” “Cocaine,” and “Tears in Heaven,” is said to have at least one key fan in North Korea: Kim Jong-chol, a son of and possible successor to the nation’s reclusive leader, Kim Jong-il. Kim Jong-chol, wearing a black leather jacket and jeans, attended a concert by Mr. Clapton in Germany in mid-2006, according to news reports.

The North Koreans have recently shown signs of increased openness to Western culture, and North Korea’s state symphony is scheduled to perform in London in September.

It is not certain that Mr. Clapton will accept the offer. “Eric Clapton receives numerous offers to play in countries around the world,” said a spokeswoman, Kristen Foster. “There is no agreement whatsoever for him to play in North Korea, nor any planned shows there.”
