知り合いのガーナ人のおじさまが亡くなりました。初めてガーナ人社会に飛び込んだ日にホームステイ先でお話しした人です。事故に会い、ローカルな治療法でケガを治療していて亡くなったのだとか。敗血症で命を落としてしまったのでしょうか？ 1週間前に会って、いつか自宅に招待してくれると話してくれたのに。突然すぎて実感が湧きません。誰もが適切な治療を受けられることが当たり前の国になりますように。

An older Ghanaian man of my acquaintance died. He was a man whom I talked in my host family's house the first day that I entered Ghanaian society.I heard that he had an accident after that he was given local treatment for his injury. I suppose that he lost his life by sepsis. I met him one week ago, and he told me that he wants to invite me to his home. I don't get a real sense because of the sad news came as a complete surprise.I wish this countries medical system improve normal that everybody can be given appropriate treatment.

I brought a finished product to an old man who gives me papayas.I boiled well papayas and honey, and then, squeezed juice from lemon. I made some papaya jam!An old Ghanaian man said "where is bread?" But he enjoyed all only Jam. I will make it again.

歩行練習のためパークに行こうというので子どもたちについていくと、壁を隔てた配属先の隣の敷地に大きなフットボールグラウンドを発見！全く屋根がないので炎天下にさらされるのが難点ですが、近いという点ではアンプティーサッカー教室候補地として最有力です。どこかのチームとのコネクションをつかみたいところです。

One of children said "Let's go to the park!" so that I followed children for walking exercise, I found out a big football pitch that located next to my workplace beyond a wall.A difficult point is that we will be exposed to the burning sun, it is the most likely candidate for class of amputee football from the viewpoint of closeness. I wish I make contact with an amputee football team.

同僚に関節可動域の計測について教えて欲しいと頼まれました。関節可動域を記録に書き続けた甲斐あって、興味を持ってくれたみたいです。イラスト付きの表をテキストからコピーして、それを見ながら説明しました。理学療法士資格のない人が知らないのは当然のこととして、資格を持っていて大卒5年目で基本軸と移動軸を正確に合わせられないのはちょっと驚きでした。いつもは目測で測っているらしいです。ガーナでトップの大学ではどんな評価法を習うのでしょう？

I was requested to teach colleagues how to measure range of motion. All my efforts that I kept recording range of motion have been worthwhile, and she was interested in it. Then, I explained them with an illustrated tables copied from textbook. It takes granted for that unqualified person doesn't know it. But, I was shocked that a qualified person who graduated university 5 years ago couldn't adjust basic line and movable line. Usually, they measured with the eye.What kind of assessment do they learned in the highest university in Ghana?

オランダ人整形外科医が半年に1回、診察と手術をするためにガーナを訪れます。今日は診察日。それぞれの患者さんが手術適応かどうかを見極めていました。今度手術見学させて下さるとのこと。新たな経験は楽しいです！

A Dutch orthopedic surgeon visits once a half year to see patients and operate. Today is a consultation day.He made sure that whether each patient need operations or not. He allowed me to see his operation. New experience is great fun for me!

朝、お隣さんが私を呼ぶ声が。日本人女性があなたを今夜招待したいと言っていると、ダイレクターからメッセージが来たとのこと。教えられた電話番号にかけてみるとお相手は大使夫人！コンサートの席が余っているから来て欲しいということでした。プロのピアノとボーカルを聴いて、ここがガーナであることを忘れるほどスペシャルな1日を過ごせました。

In the morning, I heard my neighbor called me. She receives a message from director. The following is her massage. A Japanese woman said that she want invite me tonight.I called the number that I gave, I talked to the wife on the ambassador to Ghana! She said that she wants me to go to a concert because there are empty seat of the concert. I appreciated professional vocal and piano, and then I had a special day so that I am likely to forget that I am in Ghana.

トロで南に向かうとそこは海だった！ガーナに来て初めて砂浜を見ました。湘南の海を思い出しました。海沿いのホテルのテニスコートで久しぶりのテニス。今回はボールをまっすぐ打つだけで精いっぱいだったけど、ラリーを続けられるようにうまくなりたいと思います。

I went to south by bus, and arrived at sea! This is first time to see a beach. I remember a beach of Shonan.I played tennis in a tennis court of a hotel stand along the coast. It is all I can do to hit a ball forward this time, I want to play well to continue a rally.

先週、同僚にもらった布でオーダーメイドのパンツを作ってもらうため仕立屋に持って行きました。ちょっと変わったステッチで縫ってくれていて、ポケットも紐もついて縫いしろの処理もきれいです。15ガーナセディ、日本円にして約750円で仕立ててもらえました。同僚も「それいいね、作ってもらったお店に連れて行って」と言ってくれました。使いやすいパンツを作ってもらって感謝！

Last week, I brought a material that I was given from my colleagues to make into pants to a tailor.He made it with unique stitches, and it has pockets, a string and a margin is sewed finely.It costs 15 Ghana Cedi, about 750 Yen to make one pants. My colleagues said "It is fine, let me bring to the tailor". I'm happy to get useful pants.

玄関の前に6m×8mくらいの庭があります。雨で流されない一角を選んで、家庭菜園ができないか検討中です。とりあえず今日は石拾いと草むしり。ニワトリとヤギの侵入防止に囲いが必要かも。

I have a small yard in front of entrance of my house, the area of the yard is 6m by 8m. I am considering if I can make a private vegetable garden in one corner. I weeded and picked stones today. I may need an enclosure for prevent fowls and goats come in.
