134日目、ボルタ州巡回診察
今日から3日間、配属先職員の巡回業務に同行。ワンボックスカーに装具や工具を詰め込んで、キャリヤーの上には車いすを載せてンサワンを出発しました。
ボルタ州の幹線道路沿いは広大な草原が延々と続きます。暑くて乾燥している釧路湿原といった感じです。直線道路を走ること3時間、ソガコペという町の福祉センターに着きました。
ここでもポリオと脳性まひの患者さんをたくさん診ました。さらに1時間走って理学療法士隊員のいる職業訓練校へ。装具や手術の相談を終えて初日の業務が終了しました。
夕方に隊員3人が集まって日本語でおしゃべり。日本語で話すのは気が楽だわ。
Nov 13th (134 days) Traveling clinic at Volta region
I accompany a traveling clinic for 3 days with staffs of my workplace. We left Nsawam after packed a minivan with prostheses and tools, carried a wheelchair
Extensive grasslands stretch far into the distance along a major road in Volta region. It looks like hot and arid Kushiro Marsh. We drove a straight road for 3 hours, arrived at social welfare center in Sogakope town.
We also consulted a lot of patients who had polio and cerebral palsy in this place. And then I moved a vocational school where one of Japanese volunteers works. We finished the first days' consultation about orthoses and operations
After that, three Japanese volunteers gathered and talked in Japanese. I felt at ease while we talked in Japanese language.
135日目、巡回診察2日目
朝9時にアボという町を出発。スタッフに途中の道沿いに患者さんがいると言われました。道路沿いの小さな家の前の地面の上に座っている女性がいました。以前車いすを提供したそうです。彼女は子どもに車いすを押してもらわなければ外出できないそうです。この国では生活を支え合うために家族がいるんだなぁ
北上3時間、ボルタ州の一番大きな町"ホ"に到着。障害を持った人が裁縫などの作業をするところだそうです。今日はお休みだったので、いつか来てみたいな。
Nov 14th (135 days) The 2nd day of traveling clinic
We left Abor town at 9 o'clock. My colleague said that one of patients lives by this road. After a while I saw one woman sitting on a ground in front of a small house. They provided her a wheelchair before. But she can't go out if her children don't push her wheelchair. I suppose that a family live together to help each other in this country.
Then we went up north for 3 hours, arrived at Ho town that is the biggest town in Volta region. I saw patients in a Rehabilitation center. I heard that people with disabilities work sewing and so on in this center. Today it was closed, I want go another day.
136日目、巡回診察3日目
朝9時にホを出発し、ひたすら北に走り、11時にバンドゥの病院に到着。オープンエアーの待合室には人がいっぱい！
生まれつき片足が短い男の子の松葉杖の調整もしました。木製松葉杖のナットをゆるめてボルトを抜いて差し込む穴の位置を変えて完成。と思ったらグリップの位置が高すぎる。グリップを止めてある太い針金をペンチで伸ばしてまた差し直してやっとお渡し。
本日は36人。18時に病院を出てノンストップで23時半にやっと帰宅。運転、診察、装具の修理まで一人でやり通すラファエルさん、尊敬します！
Nov 15th (136 days) The 3rd day of traveling clinic
We left Ho at 9 a.m. then went up north long time, after that arrived at a hospital in Kpando at 11 a.m. A lot of people remained in an open-air waiting space.
I adjusted crutches for a boy who has congenital shortage of one leg. I loosened a nut of wooden crutches, replaced a bolt to another hole, finally completed. But the height of a grip is too high. We straightened a thick wire that has held the grip, inserted it again, and gave them with much effort.
Today we saw 36 patients. Finally, we moved nonstop from the hospital at 6 p.m. and went back home at 11 p.m. I respect Mr. Rafael because he managed driving, consulting, repairing and everything.
137日目、忙しい1日
任地戻って臨時の土曜診察。オランダ人医師のロンパ先生と3日間働き詰めのラファエルさんと。
膝が曲がったままになり、足を浮かせたまま松葉杖2本で歩く少年など貴重な症例を拝見。その後、首都へ移動し日本文化紹介イベントへ。忙しいけど充実した日々でした。
Nov 16th (137 days) Busy day
We had an extra clinic on Saturday in my place. I did with Dr.Rompa and Mr.Rafael who worked throughout 3 days.
I saw a valuable case who had both knee contracture and walked with crutches, the reason is that his both legs couldn't touch the ground. After that I moved to capital to go to a Japanese festival.
It was very busy day, but I was satisfied.
138日目、瞬間移動
丘の上に住んでいる子どもの家に行くと、「前はジョギングしていたよね」と覚えていてくれました。
年配のおじさんとお母さんに挨拶して、ちょっと家で休んでマーケットへ。道を歩いていると椅子に座ったおじさんが私に向かって「ピクチャー、チルドレン」と話しかけてきました。
よく見ると、さっきの家にいたおじさんです。次はどこに現れるか！？
Nov 17th (138 days) Momentary movement
When I visited a family lived at top of a hill, children remember me and said "You ware jogging before"
I greeted an old man and children's mother, and then went to a market after rest in my home. When I went down a street, a man who was sitting on a chair said to me "Picture, children!”
I looked at him carefully he was sitting in a house. Next time where will we meet?
139日目、夜間装具1ヶ月
外反膝のため先月から夜間装具を始めた3歳の女の子。1か月ぶりに外来に来たので角度を計測すると5度改善していました。数値化すると効果が分かると同僚も認識してくれたみたいです。計測することを申し出てみて良かった！
Nov 18th (139 days) Night brace for 1 month
I saw a three-years-old girl who had knock knee and started putting on night braces from last month. She came for temporary consultation after one month, when I measured her knees, it was improved 5 degrees. My colleagues recognized effect of numeric. I'm glad to propose measurement.
140日目、PT隊員来訪
巡回診療に行ったボルタ州に派遣されている理学療法士隊員が1人います。彼女の活動先にいる患者さんが、当施設に入所するとのことで一緒に来てくれました。

Nov 19th (140 days) Visit of Physical Therapist volunteer
One physical therapist volunteer has been dispatched in Volta region where I went for traveling clinic. A patient who stays in her workplace came for admission, so that she came together.
I look forward to your continued acquaintance.
