82日目、うどん作り
ガーナの人たちに「何を食べるの？」とよく聞かれます。「鍋、肉じゃが、みそ汁」これらは何と説明したらいいんだろう？
「日本風のベジタブル＆ミートスープ」「大豆スープ」と言ってみたりしていますが、きっとイメージできてないんだろうな。
麺なら手軽に作れるかもと思って、小麦粉を買ってうどんを打ってみることにしました。「きしめん」みたいだけど、うどんになりました。さて、ガーナ人は食べてくれるでしょうか？

Making Udon
I was asked by Ghanaian "What kind of foods do you eat in Japan?" "A one-pot meal, boiled meat and potato, miso soup" I don't know how do I explain these dishes.
I said "Japanese taste vegetable and meat soup" or "Beans soup", it is probable that they won't image.
I thought that it may be easy to make noodles, I bought flour and tried to make Udon. It looks like "Kishimen", but I made Udon. Now, Won't Ghanaian try it?
83日目、うどんの感想
手持ちの具材があまりなかったので、「だしの素」と「麺つゆ」ベースにして、玉ねぎを具にしてスープを作り、持って行ってみました。近くに住む3歳の女の子は一皿分すべて食べてくれました。
ホストファミリーも「美味しい」と言ってくれました。初めて口にした味で何とも言えないといった感じの表情でしたが・・11歳の女の子はその食感に驚いたのか、口に入れた途端出していました。
次はどんな日本食を持っていこうかな

Reactions about Udon
I didn't have many ingredients, so I made on a base of "Dasinomoto" and "Mentsuyu", then made soup with an onion. A three-year-old girl who lives in near my house ate whole dish.
Host mother said to me "Japanese noodle is sweet". Anyway, their look of mixed feelings, because this is first time to eat Japanese food. An eleven-year-old girl spat out some noodles the moment she ate because she was surprised by oral sensation of it.
Next time, what kind of Japanese food should I bring to them?

ガーナの村には、家まで水道が通っている家と無い家があります。家に水道が通っていない村人は水道のある家までバケツやタンクを持って汲みに行きます。
広場の一角に共同の水栓がある村もあります。水を汲みに来た人がホストマザーに何やらお金を払っているのをよく見かけて、いったい何のお金なのかと思っていました。みんな水道水の代金を払っていたのですね。
1ガロン40-50ペセワ（1L13.2円、1㎥で13200円）になります。日本より高いかも！浄水場は公営らしいです。水は大切に使おう。

Tap water
In rural area in Ghana, some houses have water supplied and some houses have no water pipe. The people who have no water go to the house that has water supply and bring water with a bucket or a container.
One of the villages has a common tap in one corner. I saw some people who came to bring water paid to my host mother. I thought that what kind of fee they paid? They paid for tap water.
They pay 40 to 50 Pesewa per gallon (13.2 yen per liter, 13,200 yen per 1m3). The water bill may be higher than that of Japan. A filtration plant is a government enterprise. I should economize on water.
85日目、多国籍ミーティング
同僚が今日から2週間講習を受けるため日常業務ができません。ということで、理学療法アシスタントのガーナ人女性とオランダからの実習生2人と私が業務を引き受けることになりました。
お互いに情報が伝わりにくいので、朝にみんなで情報共有する時間を設けてもらうことを提案しました。
人数が多いので子どもたちの個別練習は毎日できていません。情報共有のツールの一つとして、ボードを作って個別練習した子どもの名前を貼っていくことにしました。この「見える化」でガーナ人スタッフの意識が何か変わるでしょうか？

A multinational meeting
My colleague can't work their daily routine because she has a short-term course for two weeks. So that's why, I take on a job with one Ghanaian woman who is physical therapy assistant and two intern from Netherland.
I suggested making time for sharing information with us in the morning, because it is difficult to get information each other.
There are a lot of children here, so we can't provide individual training for children every day. I decided to make put on cards that are written children’s name who gave individual training on a board as one of the tools to shear information. I wonder whether Ghanaian stuff's awareness will be changed through this visualization.

水曜日の午後、成人の切断者たちのディスカッションタイムとなっています。例によってレクチャーをするように頼まれました。
「私一人で2時間もたせるのは無理だってば・・」でも、これは自分のためだと思って何とかネタを集めました。
今日の内容はウエスト、ヒップの周径の計測とその割合から隠れ肥満について知ること、エネルギーが体のどの部分でどれだけ使われているかクイズ形式で知ってもらうことにも挑戦しました。
みんな、私のつたない英語に付き合ってもらってありがとう。

Facilitation
Every Wednesday afternoon is discussion time for adult amputees. True to form I requested to give a lecture.
"It is impossible to preparing lecture for two hours by me...” But I collect something to talk about for my benefit.
Today’s contents are measurement of waist and hip, getting knowledge about a person who doesn't look his weight. I tried to let them know where and how much energy is used inside of body with a quiz format.

多国籍メンバーでマーケットにショッピング。目的は鶏肉です。マーケットで肉が買える場所を知らないとのことだったので連れて行ってあげることにしました。
1本路地を入ったところにあり、商品が店頭には並んでいないので分かりにくいのです。これでわざわざ2時間かけて首都に行かなくても肉にたどり着けるね！

Shopping
I went shopping to a market with my multinational members. The purpose is to buy some chickens. They don't know where they can get chickens, so I bring them to the meat store.
The place is difficult to understand, because items are not arrayed on the shelves. Now, they don't need to take for two hours to the capital city.

以前から聞いていたガーナフードが食べられるお店。小さなお店なんだろうな・・でも近所にそんなお店あるのかな？配属先の人に実習生と一緒に連れて行ってもらいました。どうやら歩いていく様子。茂みの中を進みます。小さな広場に石のかまどに鍋が二つあります。木の板でできたテーブルとイス。木の棒の柱と葉っぱでできている屋根。奥にはフーフーをパウンドするおばちゃんが2人。ただそれだけ。
ここまで簡単にお店ができるとは。その名も「ブッシュ・カンティーン」。場所さえあれば何だってできるんだ。やる気さえあれば私もこの地で何かできるのではないか。根拠のない勇気をもらいました。

An open-air canteen
Before now, I heard about a restaurant where we can eat Ghanaian food. I think it may be small shop, I wonder such a restaurant in the neighborhood? I was taken to the place by one of the worker in my workplace with interns. We will go there on foot. We move through the bush. We could see two pots on a cooking stove made of stones, wooden tables and chairs, roof made of a stick and leaves. There are two women who are pounding Fufu in the interior. That is all.
How simple store it made! The shop is known as "Bush Canteen”. We can do everything if there is a space. I may be able to do something in this place if I have motivation.
I was encouraged without foundation.

明日は多国籍メンバーを私の家に招いてランチパーティー。カレーと肉じゃがとうどんと卵ディップを作りました。ガーナの素材を使った日本の料理といったところです。ジャガイモの代わりにヤム芋で代用したけれどなかなか美味しくできた。感想を聞くのが楽しみ！

Cooking day
Tomorrow I will invite my multinational members and hold lunch party at my house. I made curry, meat and potato and an egg dip.
Those are Japanese food made of Ghanaian ingredients. I used Yam potatoes instead of potatoes, it tastes pretty good. I look forward to hearing for their impressions!
89日目、人々の日々の暮らし
配属先の人の案内で、ローカルエリアを見て回ってきました。高台からの町を見渡すことから始め、一般的な家、井戸、教会、学校、鉄くず集積所、日曜日のマーケットの様子。
洗車のために駅に電車が止まっていたので、シートに座ることもできました。小さな路地に入ったら道に迷ってしまいそうなので、案内してもらえてありがたかったです。洗濯物や体を川で洗う人もいます。わざわざ水を汲みに行ってお金を払うより、川に行った方が確かに安上がりです。ただ衛生面と環境を考えると良くないですね。
ランチは昨日作った、卵と野菜のディップ、カレーライス、肉じゃがを多国籍ガールズ5人に振る舞いました。みんな美味しく食べてくれて大満足！

Ghanaian’s daily life
I looked around local area with one of the co-workers as a guide. First, I looked out over a view of the whole town from a hill, and then, I looked standard houses, a water well, a church, schools, a scrap iron collection site, a row of stores in a market on Sunday. A train was stopped to wash in a station, so I was able to sit down on the train. If I walked in a small lane, I could be missed my way. I'm glad he showed me around a town.
Some people wash clothes and take a bath in a river. Certainly, it is cheaper to go to the river than take the trouble to pay and bring water. It is unhygienic and harmful to the environment.
After that, I entertain egg and vegetable dip, curry and rice and boiled meat and potatoes for five multinational girls. I was satisfied because they enjoyed the meal!

月曜日はコンサルテーションの日。外来診療みたいな感じです。初診の人の問診からホームエクササイズのアドバイス、記録までやってみるように言われました。
杖の修理1名、脳性麻痺の子1名、発達遅滞の子1名。外来患者数が多いから、私が診る人数を徐々に増やしていく計画なのかしら？医療英語のいい勉強になります・・

Rehabilitation doctor debut?
Every Monday is consultation day. It looks like a medical care for outpatients in a hospital. I asked to do intake interview for a first-time patient, advice of home exercise and recording.
One patient need repairing crutches, another patient is Cerebral palsy, another patient is delayed development. The numbers of outpatient is so large that they make a plan to increase the patients whom I consult. It is good learning for me to memorize medical English.
91日目、2年間でやりたいこと
2年間の活動計画を立てるにあたって、配属先のダイレクターと話ができました。ここ2か月の活動を文書で報告して私の要望も伝えました。
彼女も細かな計画を立てることが苦手なガーナ人気質を何とかしたいと思っているようです。配属先の外で生活している人を対象にした活動をしたいという要望も認めてくれたようです。
とりあえず交渉成功。あとはどう具体的に進めていくか・・

My purpose for two years
I talked with a director of my workplace so as to make my action plan within the next two years. I made a report of my activities these two months in writing and I told about my request.
She wants to manage to do Ghanaian temperament that is poor at make a detailed plan. I suppose she approve my request that I want something to do for people living outside of my workplace.
We have negotiated an agreement. After that, what should I do concretely?
