GOOD FRIDAY! What's that 
イースター前の金曜日（今年は４月１５日）ですが、聖なる金曜日って。。。何ですか？ 何でグッドですか？？

教会やキリスト教の話には
十字架のこと。。。
「つみ」のこと。。。
イエス様が十字架で死んでくださったこと等が。。。
必ず出て来ますが、
何で
こういう面白くない、難しい話を
いつもするのかな？？
私は小さい時からずっと教会に通っていましたので、慣れていますが、そうじゃない人はどういうふうに感じているのかしら。。。
何でクリスチャンはいつも十字架のことを
話しているのかな？？
Often when we are at church or talking about Christianity... sin, the cross, and Jesus death become part of the discussion. WHY are Christians always talking about the cross?? I grew up in church so I'm used to these words and these topics, but for someone not accustomed to them I wonder how it feels?? How come we are always talking about such difficult and uncomfortable subjects??

今週の金曜日は
英語で Good Fridayという日です。キリスト受難の記念日ですね。
具体的に言うと
イエス様が苦しみを受け、
十字架に掛けられて、
死んだ日です。
Actually, the Friday before Easter is called Good Friday, the day we commemorate Jesus' suffering... and death...His death on the cross, to be more specific.
その当時、イスラエルはローマ帝国に属していましたが、死刑の囚人は必ず十字架に掛けられていました。想像も付かない程ざんこくな習慣でした。
少し読み辛い話ですが、新約聖書のマルコ書１４：４３－１５：４１にこの日の出来事が全部詳しく書いてあります。是非読んでみては？
At that time, Israel was under the rule of the Roman Empire. As cruel and hard to imagine as it is, death by crucifixion was a common sentence for prisoners. The events which took place on Good Friday are all recorded in detail in the New Testament book of Mark 14:43-15:41. It's difficult reading, but very much worth it.
旧約聖書のイザヤ書５３：５も紹介したいと思います。Good Fridayに起ったことは深い意味があります。
『彼（イエス様のこと）は私たちの背きのつみのために殺され、私たちの不義のために血を流されたのだ。彼が懲らしめを受けることによって、私たちに平安を与え、彼が打たれた傷によって、私たちはいやされたのだ。』

Here is a Scripture verse from the Old Testament book of Isaiah, which talks about the meaning of what happened on Good Friday.
”But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; (Transgressions/iniquities are both words for sin, which we talked about in the last article.) the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:5
確かに、キリスト教は十字架が中心です。
As we can see, the cross is central to the Christian beliefs.
私たちの代わりにイエス様が十字架で死んで、罪の罰を受けてくれたので。。。
Because Jesus died on the cross, taking on himself the punishment for our sins instead of us...
私たちは神様と和解することが出来ます。
...we can be reconciled to God.
そして、それによって心の平安が与えられます。
We can receive peace in our hearts.
イエス様の傷によって、私たちの心がいやされます。
Because of Jesus wounds, the wounds in our own hearts can be healed.
永遠の命を得て、天国に行くことが出来ます。
We can also receive eternal life in heaven after we die.
希望は全て十字架にあるので、とても重要ですね。
The cross is VERY important!! It is the basis of ALL our hope!
十字架があるからこそ、イースターの喜びが存在するのです。
The cross is the reason we can have joy at Easter!
