HOLY WEEK ...and what it means for us.
前回
の続きですが、
イースター前の一週間はホーリー・ウイークという一週間です。
ホーリー・ウイークの出来事は
みんな
イエス様が生まれ７００年程前に
正確に
預言されました。
そして、
旧約聖書にその預言が書かれています。
To continue on from last time, the events which took place during HOLY WEEK, the week leading up to Easter, were all correctly prophesied around 700 years before Jesus was born. Those prophesies are recorded in the Old Testament of the Bible.
今回紹介したいのは預言者のイザヤです。イザヤ書５３章には、まだ生まれていなかったイエス様の死について、様々な預言が記録されています。
So, long before he was even born, the prophet Isaiah wrote a lot about Jesus' death in chapter 53 of his book.
まずは、イエス様が何で死ななければいけなかったのか？
First of all...why DID Jesus have to die?
その理由を少し考えてみたいと思います。
Let's consider the reason...
『私たちは皆、羊のようにさ迷い、自分勝手な道に向かっていった。しかし、主は私たちの「つみ」をすべて彼（イエス様のこと）に負わせた。』イザヤ５３：６
"We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him (Jesus) the iniquity (wrongdoings) of us all." Isaiah 53:6
「自分勝手な道」というのは
神様から離れていってしまう道です。
この事を「つみ」といます。
"Each of us has turned to his own way" means... we are each going down a road in the direction AWAY from God. We are doing our own thing. That's what the word "sin" is talking about.
「罪」の漢字を見ると
引いてしまう人が多いかもしれませんが
犯罪の意味に限られていません。
In Japanese, the kanji character for sin is associated with the word crime. Understandably, people have a strong reaction to that, so it's necessary to explain that the word has a much broader meaning.
英語のsin（罪）とういのはなかなか通訳しにくいものです。日本語と違って、犯罪の意味には限られていません。心の中に完全じゃない、百パーセントパーフェクトじゃないものが「つみ」です。殺人や盗みの大きな罪だけではありません。自己中心、憎しみ、人の悪口、悪意のないうそ等も入ります。
The English word sin is a difficult concept to translate well. Sin is anything in our heart that is less than perfect. It includes selfishness, hatred, gossip, white lies...not only the “big” things like murder and stealing.
神様から離れることを決め、
神様のことを考えないで、
自分勝手な生き方を続けるという意味です。
人間は皆そのカテゴリーに入ります。
Sin and "going our own way" means that we are deciding to live the way we want, without giving any thought to God (...and His Word or what He has done for us and desires of us.) We have deliberately decided to ignore Him and do whatever we please...apart from Him. Every one of us falls into this category. This is a problem!
罪の問題を解決しないと
神様と人間との関係は
私たちがどんなに頑張ってもよくなりません。
神様は解決してくださいましたが。。。
No matter how hard we try, because of sin (as described above), we cannot reconcile our relationship with God on our own. We can't work for this. But there IS a solution!

『私たちは、神に敵対していた時、（離れている生活をしていた時）御子イエスキリストが十字架上で死んでくださったことによって、神を和解することができました。。。』新約聖書のローマ教会へのパウロの手紙５：１０
"When we were still God's enemies (living that 'want my own way, don't care what God wants' life) we were reconciled to Him through the death of his Son, Jesus." Romans 5:10 ( New Testament)
イエス様が死んでくださった理由はこれなのです。イエス様が罪の罰を代わりに受けてくれたことによって、人間は神様と和解することができるのです。
This Scripture verse IS the reason Jesus died. He has paid the price. He has taken the punishment for our sinfulness instead of us. Because of THIS, we can be reconciled to God... both now and forever.
