ＴＯＥＩＣは知的度do を示す TOEIC; How Intelligent You Are

I read articles on the TOEIC test in this magazine:

I know

a high score of TOEIC has little to do with speaking and writing, but still

I expect that more and more Japanese will take the test.

ＴＯＥＩＣ高得点kou toku ten がスピーキングやライティングとはほとんど関係kan kei ない

のはわかっているが、それでも

私watashi は、日本ni hon でＴＯＥＩＣを受u ける人hito はまだまだ増fu えると予想yo sou している。

TOEIC works like entrance exams to universities.

ＴＯＥＩＣは大学dai gaku 入試nyuu shi みたいなものだ。

Even if you studied hard and got into a prestigious university,

it wouldn't mean you could write a great thesis and give a lecture.

In the same way,

even if you study English hard and get a high score of TOEIC,

it doesn't mean you can write and speak everything in English.

たとえがんばって勉強ben kyou して有名yuu mei 大学に入hai っても、

すごい論文ron bun が書ka けたり講義kou gi ができるわけではないだろう。

同ona じように、

たとえ英語ei go がんばって勉強してＴＯＥＩＣで高得点kou toku ten を取to っても、

何nan でも英語で書ka けたり話hana せたりするわけじゃない。

But so what? でも、だから何nani ？

Going to a good college and having a good TOEIC score

both show how intelligent you are or were.

いい大学に行i ったりＴＯＥＩＣでいいスコアを取to るのは、

共tomo にあなたがどのくらい知的chi teki （だった）かを示shime すもの。

This will be Japan in a few years: 数年後suu nen go の日本はこうなる。つまり、

Did you go to college? Then,

people take it for granted that you have a TOEIC score of 800.

大学出de たんだったらＴＯＥＩＣ８００点ten ぐらい当a たり前mae 。

It's not a matter of whether you need English right now.
