ANDERS'N'PONCIA played an active part in American popular music beginning as the group "THE VIDELS"from the end of 50's. In 1960 they had a big hit with the song "MISTER LONELY" and began making first class records with such first class producers in the American pops scene as DOC POMUS,PHIL SPECTER,LEIBER AND STOLLER, and RICHARD PERRY.
Their songs have been recorded by THE RONETTES,THE CRYSTALS,DARLENE LOVE,GARNET MIMMS,ELVIS PRESLEY and lot of other well known singers and groups.In Japan,one of their songs was recorded by FUMIO NUNOYA which I had the pleasure of producing.
Besides going by the name of "THE VIDELS",ANDERS'N'PONCIA also had Top 40 and Top 100 hits as "THE TRADE WINDS"and"THE INNOCENCE"
I think they are a great team,and they have accomplished a number of interesting works in their three rolls as artists,songwriters,and producer.
