be動詞文説明語句の位置にto不定詞を用いて「指示」を行っています。

2文目で未来の出来事にもかかわらずleaves現在形が使われているのは、「確定未来」だから。電車やバスのタイムテーブルなど、「揺るがぬ未来」について用います。

お菓子は500円を超えてはなりません。今夜はよく寝なさいね。わかりましたか?

 

more than~は「~を超えて」。

spend~on~は「(お金などを)~に使う」あるいは「費やす」。

 

 

Situation 2:

あなたと同居するガールフレンドがイヌを飼いたいと言い出します。あなたはイヌが苦手。反対すると、一緒にはいられないと言われました。応答してください。

 

例えば

何を言っているのかな? 君はイヌが飼いたいから、僕と別れたいと言っているの? 本気なの?

現在進行形の疑問文が作れたらオーケー。

最初の文は憤りを表すことのできる表現です。まとめて覚えましょう。

Are you sayingでは、sayingの後ろに節を置き、リポート文の形にしています。

 

 

Are you serious?

本気なの?

 

Are you serious? は「本気ですか?」「真面目に言っているんですか?」。 当惑を表す高品質の文。こちらも覚えてくださいね。

Ohnishi: Hey Rosa, would you risk a relationship…?

 

Rosa: Yes.

 

Ohnishi: I haven't finished my question.

 

Rosa: Oh, go ahead.
