When Giants Ruled the Sky"という厚い本を出版されたので、アマゾンでさっそく買った。
When I wrote a story about the submarine, I-401, in the magazine, Maru, Mr. Geoghegan helped me, providing with information & materials about the submarine.
Mr. Geoghegan has published a new book, “When Giants Ruled the Sky”, the story of which is about airships built by the US Navy from 1917 through 1935 to transport people, mails & cargo from country to country, even across the sea.
Got big hydrangeas from one of my neighbors. Hydrangeas are in full bloom in town now.

By a rental car, I visited this old house in San Diego, CA, long time ago.
Copy-pasted the following from the homepage of the California Department of Parks & Recreation:
Home to one of the state's most distinguished 19th century families, La Casa de Estudillo was San Diego's social and religious center during the Mexican and early American periods. Built during 1827-1829 by comandante José María Estudillo and his son, lieutenant José Antonio Estudillo, this adobe-block townhouse eventually enclosed an inner courtyard. It has twelve rooms including bedrooms, a living room or sala, and a dining room among others.
The thick adobe-brick walls were coated with a mud plaster and painted with a lime-based whitewash. On top of the roof was a turreted balcony, accessible by a stairwell, where the Estudillo family watched the bullfights, horse races, and fiestas on the plaza.
The family, as well as various boarders and servants, continued to live in the house until 1887. After the family's departure, the house fell into ruin and would have possibly disappeared forever were it not for the efforts of investor John D. Spreckels and architect Hazel Waterman in 1906.
Spreckles turned the renovated property into "Ramona's Marriage Place," a tourist attraction based on Helen Hunt Jackson's famous novel Ramona. It operated as "Ramona's Marriage Place" until the 1960s.
Later, in 1968, the casa became part of the California State Park system and was restored as a house museum identified with the Estudillo family. It has been described as the finest example of a large Mexican adobe townhouse in the United States. La Casa de Estudillo is the only individual site in the park listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of five original 19th century adobes in the park.
La Casa de Estudillo has opened some of its rooms to the public to walk through and enjoy. This is one of the many new and interesting updates which have been part of the Casa de Estudillo exhibit redesign process.
I copy-pasted the following from Wiki:
The Stagecoach Inn Museum in Newbury Park, California, originally known as the Grand Union Hotel, was used as a resting area for people who traveled from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara.[3] Besides a hotel and stagecoach stop, it has also been used as a post office, church, restaurant and military school.[4] It is California Historical Landmark No. 659 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It played a major role in the development of the stage line transportation network in California.[5] The hotel was also the first business venture in the Conejo Valley.[6]
Today, the inn is owned by the Conejo Recreation and Park Department and operated as a historic museum. The museum includes a rebuilt Timber School (originally built in 1889), a carriage house and blacksmith shop, nature trails, and the "Tri-Village", a small group of three houses: the pioneer house, the adobe, and the Chumash "ap". There is also a gift shop located inside the museum. A director and volunteers operate the museum, being members of the Conejo Valley Historical Society (CVHS). There is also a Jr. Docent program for children and teenagers aged 8–18. It is a dominant cultural and educational gathering place for thousands of residents and visitors to Newbury Park.[7]
The Stagecoach Inn Museum is allegedly haunted, and is considered one of California's most famous haunted places.

Lon time ago, I visited this house on Staten Island in New York with a rental car. Unfortunately, it was closed.
The following is copy-pasted from Wiki:
Conference House (also known as Billop House) is a stone house in Tottenville, Staten Island, New York City built by Captain Christopher Billopp some time before 1680. It is located in Conference House Park near Ward's Point, the southernmost tip of New York State on Staten Island, which became known as "Billop's Point" in the 18th century.
The Staten Island Peace Conference, an unsuccessful attempt to find a swift negotiated end to the American Revolutionary War, was hosted by his heir and grandson Colonel Christopher Billop, there on September 11, 1776. The house, a National and New York City Landmark, is located at Conference House Park overlooking Raritan Bay. The house is also located within the Ward's Point Conservation Area, separately added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
Located by Raritan Bay.
We really live in an era of convenience. The primary sources of my article below can be found in “U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey” on the site of the Japanese National Diet Library. Of course, you don’t have to go to the library, and the materials provided online are all free of charge.
The description related to Toryu flown by 2nd Lieutenant Mio-saburou Yamamoto and B-29, Gonna Maker, can be found in No.2-b(25) in “U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey” on the site of the Japanese National Diet Library. M. Yamamoto rammed the B-29, and both fell down in north-west of Kurume City in Kyusyu. The below picture shows the description. US pilots misjudged Toryu for Irving, or Gekkou, another type of two-engine night fighter which looked like Toryu.
The report below, stored in “US Strategic Bombing Survey”, describes the ramming by Sergeant Major Tsutomu Murata against B-29, Empire Express, over Oita Prefecture, Kyusyu. The detail of the fight can be read in the “Missing Air Crew Report” for Empire Express.

My article has been published in the June issue of the magazine, Maru, the title of which is “Toryu vs B-29, Hunting Silver Whales at Super-high Altitudes in the Sky". Toryu means a dragon slayer in Japanese. It was a type of night fighter which fought against the super-bombers, B-29s, shooting down considerable number of the giant bombers in 1944 & 1945.
