今日は、カラオケ大会に出場されるお客様の着付けをしました。

I helped a customer dress Kimono who was going to take part in a Karaoke competition.

最近、カラオケ大会用に着物を着る方が増えているきがします。

I think more and more people wear Kimono for a Karaoke competions nowadays.

４０代、５０代の方でも、振袖を着て出場される方も多いんですよ。

Even people in their 40s or 50s wear Furisode for a competions.

ところで、本日、そのお客様に、こんなもの頂いちゃいました。

手がカサカサ！ I have dry flaky skin on my hands!

まあ、それもあるんですけど、

That is also one of the reasons.

でも、着物を触っていると、乾燥しちゃうんです。

Kimono make my hands dry so much, actually.

着物屋に限ったことではなく、布を扱う職業の方は、

皆さん悩んでいるんでしょうね、きっと。

This problem is not peculiar to a staff of Kimono shops but many people dealing with cloth must be suffering from the same.

ただ、ハンドクリームなんて、使えません！

I, however, can not rely on any hand cream!

着物が汚れちゃいますからね。

Because it makes Kimono dirty, unfortunately.

乾燥は実は手だけじゃありません。

Actually, dry skin problem is not only for the hands.

長年乾燥肌と戦って、最近いいものを見つけました。

I have been fighting against the dry skin for many years but I found a good one recently.

これ、結構いいです。

After much trial and error, I found this is the best to me.

そもそも、「家紋」って何でしょう。

In the first place, what is family crest?

「葵の紋」くらいなら知ってるけど・・。

I know only "Crest of Hollyhock", though.

家紋って、平安時代から始まった、家系を示したマークなんです。

Family crests are symbols that have been used to indicate a family line since the Heian Period.

葵の紋は、有名な徳川家が使っていますよね。

As you know, "Crest of Hollyhock" is for "Tokugawa shogun family".

通常、男性用紋は、丸で囲まれていて、女性用は丸が無いんです。

Normally, family crests for men are encircled while women's have no circle.
