前向きに行こう！ Let's think positively!

洗濯ものが溜まっていくぅーー！

My laundry has been piled up,

この何日も続く雨で。

Due to the incessant rain for days.

気分もちょっと晴れないし。

Also, I don't feel great...

でも、”前向きに行こう”

But we should think positively!

なんて言うほど、素晴らしい人格でもないし。

is not a comment that I can always make because I am not such a positive person

ただ、こんなんあります。

I would like to show you this however.

最近の若い女性の平均身長って、

160cmにも満たない・・と思ってたんですけど。

The recent average height for young ladies is less than 160cm as far as I know.

今日は、卒業式袴レンタルの女性が170cmでした。

Today, a girl came to rent Hakama for her graduation and her height is 170cm.

先週は、訪問着のレンタルのお問い合わせがあり、

「あの・・・身長が170ｃｍ以上あるんですが・・」と。

"I would like to rent Homongi Kimono but my height is more than 170cm, by the way..."

the other end of the line said so, last week.

背か高くて、カッコいいのに、

「実は・・」なんて言葉で切り出すご様子から、

きっと、見えない御苦労があるのだろうなぁと感じました。

Tall girls look so nice but if I hear they start talking with

"My height is actually...", I can not help imagine

how they are struggle to get what they want due to their height.

でも、着物って、背が高くても、そうでなくても、

その人に合ってしまうから、不思議なものです。

However, whether you are tall or not does not matter.
