1月9日と10日は成人式でしたね。

Coming-of-Age ceremonies were held on 9th and 10th Jan.

今年は、バタバタしていて、レンタルのお客様の写真を取らせていただくことがほとんどできませんでした。

成人式と舞妓さん Coming of age and Maiko san

成人式が終わりました。
The event of Coming-of-age is over.


今年は、舞妓さん風の髪飾りが流行ってましたね。
Maiko-like hair accessories were so popular this year.


花名刺って、知っていますか。
Do you happene to know Hana-meshi?


舞妓さんが、大切な方だけにおくる、名刺なんです。
That is a kind of business card which Maiko(apprentice geisha) gives only to important persons.


素敵な文化ですね。
It's a very cool culture,isn't it?



しかも、舞妓⇨まいこ⇨舞い込む…と幸運が「舞い込む」なんて、言われて、お財布に入れておくと、良いともいわれています。
Also, interestingly enough, if you keep it in your purse or wallet, it will bring you luck, they say, deriving from Maiko⇨maikomu(come in) and end up wth "Luck comes in".
