Appearance : Purple.
While
swirling, pink rim colour.
Label
note : ダークブライトルビー
Nose
: sweet grape juice aroma, strawberry and slightly minty for tasting glass. For
red wine glass, licorice and herbaceous aroma was broaded.
Label
note :チェリー、ラズベリー、ブラックカラント、リコリス
Palate
: Alcohol may not be high, 12.5 -13%.
Off-dry. Very soft and gentle
tannin. With a tasting glass, not much
fruitness. With a red wine glass, toffee
flavour expands, after drinking, a little coffee. Texture is very light, waterly. Medium body.
Label
note : Well-rounded. Palate with ripe
fruit. Harmonious with long finish.
Conclusion
: Vintage might be 2011 – 2012 as its light texture, not thick. Wooded but not bulk, probably wooden chip,
not strong oak. Origin seems to be
blend, Grenache, Merlot and Syrah.
Label
note: Hand harvested Syrah and Grenache.
8 months oak.
Palate: Good acidity. Tangy.
Nice crisp. Alcohol might be
13%. Middle lingering after taste. Then you can identify bitterness. Medium
body.
Medium – full body
style. Wood fermented. Nice crisp suggests it comes from cool
climate, Cape Aghlus or Elgin? Richness
implies its vintage would be 2009 or 2010.
The bouquet encapsulates aromatic nuanceses of
gooseberry, white peach, figs, mushy peas and subtle asparagus. Lively and broadly structured with great
mouthfeel and intense fruit fat, combined with fresh bright acidity on the
middle palate ; rich and elegant with a full, round texture ending in layers of
complex, flavour-concentrated impressions.
Generous and limpid, a classical, stylish wine that requires more cellar
time for all the muted fragrances and taste impressions to fully emerge.
Cellar note : The Optimus was kept on its fine
lees for 11 mths and blended from fruit sourced from various selected vineyard
sites. Preferably decant before serving.
