Good morning![]()
It is almost the start to Japan's Obon
holidays...
What do you do during these holidays?
I went to Vancouver in May and when I was
there, I always look forward to eating great food.
What are famous Canadian
dishes?
Let's see... salmon
and ...
lots of ethnic food from around the world.
Of course, Japanese food is very popular.
There are sushi shops everywhere you look.
But I really look forward to good Chinese
food
when I go to Canada...
In Japan, they call these Chinese dishes yum cha (tea tasting)
but overseas, they call them dim sum(touch the heart)
Dumplings, steamed buns, noodles, and cooked meats
are typical dim sum dishes.
Thanks to so many Chinese immigrants, authentic Chinese restaurants in Vancouver
are simply better than anywhere else!
They are inexpensive
and can be found everywhere... not just in Chinatown.
Yum cha is yummy ![]()

and
trees and of course, the plants in my garden to grow

on the 1st day of the month...
and happiness
for the rest of the month!

Wishing you a happy & prosperous new year
