I visited Asuka for the first time on our elementary school autumn excursion.
Since then, I’ve been there several times.
My image of Asuka is the scene of the village in the autumn with the red sunset.
私が初めて飛鳥に行ったのは小学校の秋の遠足でした。それ以来、何度か行きましたが私の飛鳥のイメージは赤い夕日のその村の風景です。

Asuka is an area of Nara-ken which is known as a place where the early civilization of Japan was created about 1,400 years ago.
I have two sisters but no brother.
My sisters’ husbands and my wife’s brothers are my brothers-in-law.
I’m sorry to say that 3 of them passed away.
私には姉がいますが兄弟はいません。
私の2人の姉の夫と私の妻の兄が私の義兄と呼ばれる人々です。残念ながら3人とも亡くなってしまいました。
First, I’d like to talk about my wife’s brother in Malaysia.
まず妻のマレーシアの兄についてお話します。
My wife’s elder brother was very thoughtful and kind gentleman man. I’ve never seen and heard he got angry.
As the oldest child, he had been working hard and looking after his younger siblings including my wife since their father passed away. I can say he was a great person supporting his family.
He was a person who built up the foundation of today’s his family.
My wife couldn’t have got a chance to study in school without him.
All of his offspring spend successful and happy time now thanks to him.
妻のお兄さんは非常に思慮深く親切な人でした。
私は彼が怒ったのを見たことがありません。
彼は父を亡くした後、長兄として一緒懸命に働いて私の妻を含む幼い妹や弟の世話をしてくれました。
彼は家族を支えて今の彼の家族の基礎を築いた人だった。
私の妻は彼がいなかったら学校にも行けなかっただろうと思います。
彼のすべての家族は今、成功して幸せなときを過ごしています。
ありがとう、マレーシアのお兄さん!
Last Saturday we had a luncheon at a Japanese restaurant in Tennoji with the people of Matsubara English circle. It was a very nice time with good people and nice meals.
We have been learning together for about 25 years.
I miss those good days with them.
