As we’ve been teaching English to many people for a long time, on the street, we are sometimes asked if we’ve met somewhere before. In such a situation, we are very happy to know they are the persons we’ve taught English before. As being teachers, it is a happy moment.
As for me, I’ve met many good teachers through my life. It’s sad to say all of them have been to the other world. If it were possible, I would like to meet them and say, “Thank you for your kind words and advice to me. I still keep your each word in my mind and I’ll never forget the word.”
長年英語を教えてきたら、路上でどこかで会いましたねと声を掛けらることがあります。これはこの仕事をしていて、最高にうれしい瞬間です。彼らが以前に教えた人だと分かったときうれしい。
私も人生を通して多くの素晴らしい先生方に出会ってきました。悲しいかな、すべての先生たちは向こうの世界に旅立ってしまった。もし可能なら、会ってあなたの私への優しい言葉とアドバイスに対して感謝の言葉を伝えたい, そしてあなたの一つ一つの言葉を今でも心に秘めて決して忘れないことを。
この間、やっと見つけた本は「細雪」という本、船場の商家の4姉妹の話で時代は昭和の初めの頃。舞台は大阪、船場や上本町と芦屋、西宮、神戸などで都会的でモダンな生活ぶり。世代的に私の母と彼女の姉の時代と重なって興味深いです。読み始めたばかりですが楽しんでいます。
It’s still cold these days.
In Osaka area, it’s said that the both hot and cold weathers continue until the equinoxes.
As I believe I’ve been over working, so I’ve taken a rest and been relaxed these days. I’d like to tell my condition is getting better.
「暑さ寒さも彼岸まで」と言われます。まだまだ寒いです。私は少し過労気味だったので休息と睡眠を十分取ったら回復してきました。ぼちぼち無理しない程度に過ごします。
