昭和26年の作品。父祖以来のこの地に、静かに闇が横たわる大晦日です。
A work from 1951. It is New Year's Eve, and darkness lies quietly in this land that has existed since our ancestors.
非常に詩的だが、僕には、新しい年がやってこようかというのに、この世は闇で先の見通しもありませんと言っているように見える。
It's very poetic, but to me it seems like a new year is just around the corner, but the world is dark and there's no hope for the future.
