春雨やゆるい下駄借す奈良の宿
It rains in spring. It is an inn in Nara that rents clogs-Geta with loose string.
江戸時代、春雨の降る時節、蕪村は、奈良のさびれた旅館に泊まる。客へのサービスは十分に行き届いておらず、鼻緒が緩んだままの下駄を借りて履く。
During the Edo period, when it rains, Mr. Buson stays at a deserted inn in Nara. Inn's service to the guests is not good enough, and he borrows and wears the clogs "Geta" with loosing "hanao" straps.
