This book teaches you how to think so that you can become someone who people will listen to.
早速、重要なことを4つ紹介する。
I'll introduce four important things right away.
①「最初に何が言いたいのかを一言でサクッと示す」
"First, express what you want to say in one word."
たくさん言いたいことがあっても、最初に伝えたいことを簡潔に言う。
Even if you have a lot to say, say what you want to say first concisely.
例えば、WBC決勝の前の大谷翔平の言葉。
For example, the words of Shohei Ohtani before the WBC finals.
「では1つだけ。憧れるのをやめましょう。」
"Just one thing. Let's stop admiring each other."
この言葉は記憶に残っているだろう。
These words will surely stick in your memory.
短い言葉で言いたいことをさくっと言うことが聞き手の耳に1番記憶される。
Saying what you want to say in a few words is what will be remembered by the listeners' ears the most.
②「人を惹きつけたければストーリーを含めて伝える」
"If you want to attract people, tell them a story."
例えば、商品を売りたい場合、その商品の良さをひたすら説明しても効果は無い。
For example, if you want to sell a product, it won't be effective to just explain the good points of the product.
実際に悩んでいた人が悩みを解決したことを具体的に話す方が良い。
It's better to talk specifically about how someone who was actually troubled solved their problem.
③「自分の弱みと強みをセットで語る」
"Talk about your weaknesses and strengths together."
あなたのことを知って欲しい時は、弱みと強みの両方を伝えることが必要だ。
If you want people to know about you, it's necessary to tell them both your weaknesses and strengths.
まず、弱みはさらけ出して良い。相手はそれを聞いて安心する。
First of all, it's okay to reveal your weaknesses. The other person will feel relieved when they hear that.
次に、強みを話す時は「運」と「応援」をセットで話すと良い。
Next, when talking about your strengths, it's good to talk about "luck" and "support" together.
例えば、

「私が結果を出せたのは、誰よりも努力をしたからです。」
"I was able to achieve results because I worked harder than anyone else."
ではなく、
Instead,
「私が結果を出せたのは、その時の運の良さに加え、周りの人のサポートがあったからです。」
"I was able to achieve results because I had good luck at the time and the support of the people around me."
と、言った方が好印象だ。
This will make a better impression.
研究結果や調査の結果などを使って事実を言えば、さらに説得力が高まる。
If you state the facts using research or survey results, your argument will be even more persuasive.
④「声やジェスチャーは自分の思う3倍やる」
"Use your voice and gestures three times as much as you think you should."
あなたの声やジェスチャーはあなたが思っているより小さい。
Your voice and gestures are quieter than you think.
だから、やりすぎなほど大きく振る舞っていい。
So it's okay to act too loudly.
プレゼンなどをするときは、1度録画してから見直してみると良い。
When giving a presentation, it's a good idea to record it and watch it again.
足りないことに気づくはずだ。
