ポトシ。1996年。世界史に名だたる、標高4000m以上の鉱山の町です。
私はここで初めて、高山病というものがどういうものか思い知りました。
明け方目覚めるも、体が重く、頭痛もして、起きられず、かといって眠たくても眠りもできない。
2時間ベッドの上で努力して、ようやく起き上がれました。
食欲はなく、熱も少し出ました。
これはやばいと思いました。
ラパスで医者にかかって胸部レントゲンを撮り、異常なく、1週間くらいで回復しました。
（最近知ったことなのですが、高山病は胸にくることもあり、そうなるとやばいようです）

A mining town at the height of more than 4,000m, it is quite known in the history.
There I realized what altitude sickness was like.
I woke up very early in the morning, felt quite bad and drowsy, and had a headache.
I couldn't get up, but couldn't sleep either.
I struggled for two hours to eventually get up.
I had no appetite. I had a slight fever also.
Oh my God, what a helluva time...
Fortunately I could made it to La Paz, where I had my chest x-rayed.
The doctor said it was no problem, and he was right.
I got better in a week.
