This is a story from my elementary school days when I was often ignored.
無視されていた小学生時代のお話
I was invited to a classmate's house, which was rare.
珍しくクラスメイトの家に数人で招待されました
He wanted to boast about getting a Family Computer.
ファミコンを買ってもらったことを自慢したかった彼（スネ夫みたいな奴でした）
We all agreed to play together, but they didn't let me play much.
交代でプレーさせてもらいました。 たたの順番はスキップされがちでしたが
The game they were playing was Mario Brothers.
遊んだゲームはマリオブラザーズ
Still, I got to play a few times and enjoyed it.
数回遊ばせてもらいましたが楽しめました
After playing a few times, I got the hang of it and ended up being the best player that day.
何回かでコツをつかみ、一緒に遊んだ中では一番上手になりました。
Mario Brothers is a game where you can cooperate but also compete by getting in each other's way.
マリオブラザーズは協力プレイも楽しいが、真の遊び方はバトルだ！
No one could beat me, and it turned into a fight.
誰もたたに勝てなくなり、ケンカになりました
The owner of the game must have been really mad because when we were leaving, he did something mean to me.
ゲームの持ち主はとても腹が立ったようで、私に意地悪をしてきました。
He set his fierce medium-sized dog on me.
彼は飼っている中型犬を放って、私をおそわせました
The dog bit my legs and arms.
足と腕を噛まれました
There were no adults around, so a classmate who came with me called my parents, and they came to pick me up and took me to the hospital.
大人が誰もいなかったので、クラスメイトの一人が家に電話をかけ親に来てもらい、たたは病院に連れていかれました
I had to stay in the hospital.
たたは入院
My mom was furious.
怒り狂ったのはたたの母親
She apparently threatened the kid's parent in a very serious way, saying, "If something like this happens again, I'll kill your child."
関係者全員の親とクラスメイトを集め、相手の親に「一歩間違えれば死ぬかもしれない、こんどこんなことがあったらその子を殺す」とかなり強めに脅しをかけたそうです
News spread quickly that if you do something bad to someone, their parents will come after you. I was still ignored, but the direct mean stuff stopped.
たたに対してひどいことをすると親が乗り込んでくるとうわさが広がり
無視はされていましたが、直接的な意地悪はなくなりました
