USA: 'adoption powerhouse' that even takes in children from Japan
It was like a scene from a domestic TV drama, but there was one aspect that set it apart: the ethnicities of the parents and their children were visibly different. Twenty-five families had gathered here, and although the parents were all born in the United States, their children had come from various countries.
While this gave me an idea of the reasons why children from a prosperous country like Japan are being adopted by people in other countries, my feelings were somewhat mixed.

マドンナやアンジェリーナジョリーが養子縁組のお子さんを育てていらっしゃるのは、
有名ですが、日本からも、そんな養子縁組で育てられているお子さんがいるのですね。
アメリカに感謝。
日本では、養子縁組で育てるには、厳しい環境と言えるのでしょうね。
ちょっと複雑な心境です。
日本でも、いつか、そんなおおらかでせせこましくない考え方が、沢山存在するようになると良いなと
思います。
