「Stephen Stills」が ‘71〜 ‘73年に ex-「The Byrds」〜「The Flying Burrito Bros」の「Chris Hillman」らと活動していた7人編成グループ「Manassas」未発表楽曲/テイク集 “Pieces” は ‘09年 “発掘” 新リリース当時からCDで親しんでいましたが、同時リリースされていた2LP美品を数年前に安価GETして以降、「Stephen Stills Manassas」オリジナル・アルバム2作品LP群 (＊) と共に、改めてちょくちょく聴き直しています〜♪
入手LP前オーナー (?!) が本作LPジャケのシュリンク上【↑写真】ハイプ・ステッカーを綺麗に剥がして、レコード内袋上に貼り直してくれていました^^

まぁこれらの録音は、当時オリジナル・アルバム収録に漏れた “没テイク” なれど、「Stephen Stills」キャリア上音楽的に最も充実していた時期であろう「Manassas」のソレだけあって何れもがやはり完成度高いよなぁ〜！
でもって、この音源集を聴くと、また改めて「Stills」周辺の関連作群をあれこれ聴きたくなってくるんよね〜^^♪
