1日から「自動」三輪自転車（トライシクル）の市内の大通りと
国道の通行禁止措置が施行された。
これに反対する旅客用「自動」三輪自転車の運転者グループが
市役所の周辺の道路に集結した際、警察当局ともみ合いが起こったという。

フィリピン民主主義の象徴で現アキノ大統領の母親でもある
故コラソン「コリー」アキノ元大統領が選ばれた。
他には、サッチャー元英国首相
ヒラリー・クリントン現米国国務長官などが選ばれている。
Time Magazine recently announced that the United States
"25 most powerful women of the 20th century," as one of

日本人訪問者数
フィリピン観光省（DOT）によると
2010年9月の日本人訪問者は前年比13.0％増の3万2127人となり
7月から3ヶ月連続で3万人を超えた。
また、1月からの累計では10.38％増の24万7026人となり
伸び率が2ケタに拡大。
海外からの訪問者数全体に占める日本のシェアは10.58％となり
韓国の20.64％（53万2013人）
米国の17.29％（44万5679人）に次いで3位となった。
