13日、米国 ハワイ連邦裁判所は、当時のマルコス政権によって
拷問、抹殺、拉致された犠牲者と家族が
1986年に起こした裁判に関連して
750万米ドルで和解する判決を下したと伝えた。
和解金はマルコス家がテキサス州とコロラド州に
所有していた土地を売却したものだという。

２０１１ミス・ユニバース・ジャパン
宮崎県延岡市出身の木田直美さん（法政大４年 ２２歳）が都内で開かれた
「２０１１ミス・ユニバース・ジャパン」選考会のセミファイナルを突破し
３月の最終選考会に臨むことになった。
フィリピン人の母を持つ木田さんは
「大会を通じ日本の豊かさをフィリピンにシェアできるようアピールし
両国の懸け橋になりたい」と語っている。
木田さんの母クリスティーナさんはマニラ市出身で
直美さんも９歳まで延岡とフィリピンを行き来し
クリスティーナさんの実家で暮らしたこともあるという。

フィリピン人男性３人を強盗未遂容疑で逮捕した。
調べでは、警察は銀行強盗計画の情報を事前に察知し
標的とされた銀行の周辺に警官を派遣していた。
逮捕された３人は手榴弾や拳銃３丁などを所持していた。
