１９８６年に打倒された故マルコス元大統領が「国軍の英雄」として
国軍博物館に肖像などが飾られることになった。
マニラ首都圏の国軍本部にある国軍博物館は改装を終え、６日に新たに開館。
地元メディアによれば、国軍博物館は「英雄の殿堂」として
マルコス元大統領を含む国軍の最高勲章を受けた３９人の肖像を掲示した。
元大統領は大戦中に日本軍との戦いで功績があったとして最高勲章を受けたが
歴史家の間には元大統領の戦績を疑問視する意見もある。

土砂崩れ
フィリピン ミンダナオ地方南コタバト州タムパカン町で
２日昼、豪雨による土砂崩れで、炭鉱内にいた作業員４人が死亡した。
調べでは、土砂崩れで作業員６人が生き埋めになったが、救助隊が２人を救出した。
また、ミンダナオ地方コンポステラバレー州でも今週初め
豪雨により洪水が起こり、炭鉱員４人が死亡、２人が行方不明になっている。

２日、マギンダナオ州知事の配下にある私兵団と
イスラム急進派、モロ・イスラム解放戦線（ＭＩＬＦ）とみられる武装集団が交戦し
私兵団の10人と武装集団１人の計11人が死亡、武装集団３人が負傷した。
この交戦を受け、アキノ大統領は
３日、マラカニアン宮殿で行った記者会見で
事態収拾に努めるようガスミン国防長官に指示したと明らかにした。
