フィリピン首都圏ケソン市バエサで
５日午後９時すぎ、住宅街をうろついていたメード(26)が
警備員に拘束された。
警察署に身柄を移された後、このメードに毒を盛られたり
窃盗被害に遭ったという元雇用主が何人も名乗り出た。
メードは2008年、マニラ市で雇用主に毒を盛ったなどとして
逮捕された後、拘置所から逃走していた。
再拘束されたメードは
「若い頃に雇用主から受けた虐待に対する報復だ」と供述しているという。

フィリピンのマニラ日本人学校。
マニラ日本人学校（ＭＪＳ）を運営するマニラ日本人会の学校運営理事会は
２０１１年度から授業料を７年ぶりに引き上げた。
児童・生徒数の減少が収支悪化に直結し
2009年度から２年連続の赤字となったためだという。
値上げ幅は約６割で、2011年度の収支は黒字へ転換する見通しだ。
値上げ後の授業料は、バンコク、ジャカルタの日本人学校などと
ほぼ、同水準となる。
