南シナ海の領有権問題
南シナ海の領有権問題で、中国と周辺国の対立が深まっている。
ベトナムに続き、フィリピンでも
１６日、中国政府の強硬姿勢に抗議するデモが行われた。
フィリピンの首都・マニラにある中国大使館前には
活動家ら約７０人が集まり
「中国は軍事侵攻をやめるべきだ」などとシュプレヒコールを上げた。
今年３月にはフィリピンの資源探査船が
中国の巡視船から妨害行為を受けたとして、中国側に抗議。
これに対し、中国側は「許可を得ない資源開発は認められない」と
強硬な姿勢を貫いている。
フィリピン政府は、スプラトリー諸島周辺の呼び方を
「南シナ海」から「西フィリピン海」に変えるなど、反発を強めていた。

動物虐待
フィリピンで、洗った小犬を洗濯物と同じように干す画像を
ネット上に掲載した男性がネットユーザーや
動物団体から非難される騒ぎが起きた。（中国新聞網）
この男性はフィリピンのＳＮＳサイト上に
「犬の入浴終わり」というタイトルで数枚の画像を掲載した。
画像には全身濡れた白い小犬が
屋外の洗濯ロープに干されている様子が写っていた。
ロープにつけられた5個の洗濯ばさみが小犬の背中をはさんでおり
小犬は動くことができないようだ。
この画像が掲載されてほどなく、男性を非難する書き込みが殺到。
しまいには、このサイト上には
「こいつを吊るせ」「こいつは動物虐待者」というトピックが立ち上がり
約4000名が集まった。
非難したのはユーザーだけではない。
フィリピン動物福祉協会も男性の告訴を検討しているとの声明を出し、
男性の行為が「動物福祉法」に違反しており
2年以下の懲役もしくは罰金刑が科せられると警告する動物愛護専門家も現れた。
騒ぎが大きくなったことで、男性は画像を削除したうえで
「好奇心でやってしまった。もう2度としない」と謝罪コメントを出したが
いまだ非難の声は止まないという。
