リサール デー
フィリピンの国民的英雄、ホセ・リサールを記念する祝日
19世紀、スペインの植民地化にあった
フィリピンの独立を訴えて運動を展開していたリサールは
1986年12月30日、当時のスペイン統治者によって処刑されました。
その悲しい日を忘れないよう、国民の休日に指定されました。
彼が処刑された場所はリサール・パークとして観光名所にもなっています。
リサール公園(Rizal Park、別名 ルネタ公園 Luneta Park)
衛兵に24時間守られている記念碑があり
緑も多くマニラ市民の憩いの場所になっている。
また、リサールは1888年に来日しており
1ヶ月ほど東京都(当時・東京府)内に滞在している。
これを記念して東京の日比谷公園には
ホセ・リサール記念像が設置されている。

モンテンルパ市のサンペドロ市長は
「爆竹は人を殺傷する恐れがある。
禁止は市民の生命を守るため」と説明している。
