【ローズのリフレイン補足】
以前、
「ローズのリフレイン」を持つ
歌について少し書きました。
その時に
チャイルド・バラッドの、
・・・にも
少しだけ触れたのですが。
それについての補足です。

ヴァージョンHは、
1820年代にウィリアム・マザウェルが
集めたヴァージョンでした。

「Every rose grows merry wi' thyme」
・・・で、これは、
「すべてのバラはタイムとともに
陽気に育つ」
・・・になると思います。
そして以前も書きましたが、
この歌詞には「Nell」さんが
登場していました。

マザウェルのこのヴァージョンに
関連しているかのような
別のヴァージョンが、
1869 年に、
（ウィリアム・フィンドレー牧師）
・・・によって
『Notes & Queries』第4シリーズの、
第3巻に掲載されました。
p.605です。
フィンドレー牧師は
1860年代にそれを収集して
いたのだそうで。
その情報源は、
「ForfarshireのFramedrumに住む
Jeany Meldrum」
・・・という人の歌だそうです。
この「Forfarshire」というのは
どうやら。
現在のアンガスにあたる
ところのようです。
ここはスコットランドの
行政区画のひとつなのだそうですが。
歴史的には「州」で、
1928年までの公式名が
「フォーファーシャー」
だったそうです。
Angus（Forfarshire）
アンガスって、
あのアンガス牛の産地ですね
「フレームドラム」は、
そういう名前の場所が
フォーファーシャーに
あるのかな？
・・・と思い調べてみましたが、
よく分かりませんでした
フレーム・ドラムなんて。
太鼓のことかと
思ってしまいましたよ

リフレインは、
「Every rose springs merry in' t' time」
・・・で、
「すべてのバラが時と共に
喜びに満ち溢れる」
・・・みたいな感じです。
そしてここにも、
「Nell」さんが登場していますが。
彼女はこの歌では、
シャツを漂白までしなければ
ならなくなっています
マザウェルも、
フィンドレー牧師も。
スコットランドの人ですし。
1807 年にスコッツ・マガジンに
掲載された歌もそうでしたが。
やはり「Nell」が登場する歌は
スコットランドに多いですね

【スカボロー・フェア聴き比べ】
★The Voices of Virtue★
調べてもよく分かりませんでしたが。
動画を観る限りでは、
ストリート・ミュージシャンというか、
歌えるお笑いコンビというか？
そういう感じの人達でした。

ピアニストでもあるそう。
なんというか。

頭に浮かんだのですが

アメリカ人。
自分の歌のジャンルを
「サッドコア」と呼んでいるそう。
退廃的というか
なんというか。
個人的にすごく好きな
歌手です
この歌は、
『スカボロー・フェア』と
言えるかどうかは微妙ですが。
好きだから、
まぁ、いいか。と
