月面に十分な量の水氷が存在すれば、月探査の飲料水源となり、機器の冷却に役立つ可能性がある。
また、分解して燃料用の水素と呼吸用の酸素を生成し、火星や月面採掘へのミッションをサポートすることもできる
チャンドラヤーン-3 ミッション:
自動着陸シーケンス (ALS) を開始する準備がすべて整いました。
IST. 17時44分頃、指定された地点で着陸船モジュール（LM）の到着を待っています。
ALS コマンドを受信すると、LM は動力降下のためにスロットル可能なエンジンを作動させます。
ミッション運用チームは今後もコマンドの逐次実行を確認していく。
MOX での作戦の生中継は 17 時 20 分に始まります。
