25周年を迎えた大阪国際音楽コンクールが、今年もNYガラコンサートを開催した。
ピアノ、弦楽器、管楽器、声楽など、厳正な審査を経て上位に入賞した
若き精鋭たちが、次々とその勇姿をお披露目した。
昨年の当該コンサートでは、予期していなかったハプニングに見舞われて、
私は舞台裏で走りまわり、そのステージを鑑賞する余裕など微塵もなかった。
今年はNYを拠点に活動する風の環合唱団が加わったことから、
出演者が膨大な数になり、むしろ私はステージ裏に入る余裕がなかった。
由緒あるカーネギーホールでは、ユニオンに属するスタッフがメインで動き、
主催者側はピアノの位置を動かすことすらできないという厳しい契約項目がある。
舞台裏を想像して落ち着かない自分の性分を戒しながらの２時間半。
観客の立場になると、次はもっとこうしたいという改善点が見えてくる。
最後に、ゲスト出演したオペラ歌手・田村麻子さんが、
圧倒的なプロの実力を見せつけて、コンサートは幕を閉じた。
世界の頂点、カーネギーホールでのコンサートをすでに経験した若者たちが、
これからもっと大きく羽ばたいていく姿に、心からのエールを。

These young people have already experienced a concert at the top of the world, Carnegie Hall.
