AirbnbでSan Pedroから建築技術者67歳が来てくれました。もう退職されていますが、建築には長くかかわってきたよう家に興味があります。
元々はアフガニスタンの方のようです。
アメリカに移住して35年とか言ってました。
日本にも45年前に来て大学も卒業し、働いていたそうです。日本語が上手なので最後の方はほとんど日本語で話していました。
かなり個性的な方。話し出すと止まらないです。
From Airbnb, 67 years old, who used to be a construction engineer, came from San Pedro.

建築家なので家の建て方に興味があり、我が家の構造、間取りなどをすごくほめてくれて、いい大工だと大工のことも称賛していました。確かに大工の伊東さん、ほとんど一人で我が家を作ってくれて腕のいい大工でした。
窓も絶賛。網戸も絶賛。アメリカよりいいそうです。確かに日本の窓は機能的でしょう。
totoのトイレも絶賛。45年前にTotoのシャワートイレの出始めの時に関わったようで当時と比べて今のトイレに驚くほどの進歩と言ってました。うちのトイレ、私もこだわり自動消灯の電灯はもちろん、ふたを開けて流してくれてふたも閉めてくれるものです。というのはこの機能がないと夫が使用後にふたが開いたままになっていたからです。

銚子に妻も娘も息子もいるようで、今回の訪問は娘の進学を見届けるためだそうです。
車も買われました。
予定より長く丸一週間おられました。
これからも来るかもしれないみたいです。

しばらくは日本にいるみたいで、また近くに用事があるときは泊りに来るそうです。
