This weekend, my husband and I went to support a volleyball tournament.
My son's volleyball team was playing in the tournament.
今週末、夫とわたしはバレーボールの試合の応援に行きました。
息子のバレーボールチームが大会で試合をしていました。
This is the second tournament from the local competition two weeks ago.
The top five teams from the tournament were qualified to advance to the next tournament.
2週間前に市内大会があって、2つ目のトーナメント。
上位5チームが次のトーナメントに進めます。
My son's team lost in the semi-final, and got the third place.
So, they got a chance to play in Hanshin tournament.
Hanshin tournament is played with 12 teams from the six cities; Itami, Amagasaki, Takarazuka, Nishinomiya, Kawanishi and Ashiya.
息子のチームは、準決勝で負けて３位でした。
だから、阪神大会に進むチャンスをもらいました。
阪神大会は、伊丹、尼崎、宝塚、西宮、川西、芦屋の6市から12チームが戦います。
On Saturday, they had the first and the second round.
My son's team won the first in straight sets.
土曜日は、1回線と2回戦がありました。
息子のチームは、1回戦をストレートで勝利！
In the second round, they played against a stronger team which they lost in November last year.
We, the parents, really wanted the team to win this time.
It was really close last time, so we believed we would have a good chance to win.
2回戦は、強敵との試合。
去年11月に負けた相手。
わたしたち親は、今回本当に勝ってほしかったんです。
前の試合は接戦で、勝てそうだったんです。
They played very well, and won the first set.
At the second set, they lost 8 consective points from the beginning.
It was just a bad turn of events.
すごくいい試合をして、１セット目をとりました。
２セット目は、最初に８ポイントを連取されて、ひどい展開でした。
We cheered loudly and they played better again, but they lost the second set 23 - 25.
At the final set, they were off to a good start,
and won it with 25- 17.
わたしたちは、大きな声で応援しました。
チームは、またいいプレイをし始めたけど、23-25で落としました。
最後のセットは、いいスタートを切って、
25-17で勝ちました！！！
I was so happy for them and cried tears of joy.
All the parents rejoiced together.
すごく嬉しくて、泣きましたー。
保護者みんなで喜びました！
It was a great win because it was not just a return match but also they got the ticket to Hyogo Prefectural Tournament on Februay 3-4.
これは本当に大きな勝利でした。
というのも、雪辱戦だっただけじゃなく、2月3日、4日に開催される
兵庫県大会への出場を決める試合だったから。
This is the very first time for the team to move to the Prefectural tournament after its founding 4 years ago!
創部4年目にして初めての県大会出場です！
日曜日は、準決勝、決勝、５位決の試合がありました。
We expected the semi-final to be a tough match, but our team won in straight sets!
The opponent was the champion of the local tournament two weeks ago,
we really wanted to win and they did it!
At the final, they played against the very strong team and lost in straight sets.
Especially, my son got really tired from the games and couldn't play as he wanted.
決勝は、強豪チームにストレート負けでした。
特に息子は、試合疲れで、思うようにプレイできてませんでした。
It was a little disappointed to lose,
but I'm so proud of them and grateful to have chances to watch their games.
負けたのはちょっと残念だったけど、彼らのことを誇りに思うし、
試合を応援できる機会があることが本当にありがたかったです。
